Conservative Columnist Pushes Conspiracy That Hillary Clinton Murdered DNC Staffer
Prominent conservative website Townhall published a column Tuesday that openly questioned whether or not Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton was behind the July murder of a D.C.-based DNC staffer.
“Clinton Body Count or Left-Wing Conspiracy? Three With Ties to DNC Mysteriously Die,” writes columnist Rachel Alexander. Alexander never openly states that Clinton had three people murdered, of course: she’s just asking questions, man.
“Since the Democratic National Committee emails were leaked a few weeks ago, three people associated with the DNC have all been found dead under what could be questionable circumstances,” she argues. ” Some — including Bernie Sanders supporters — suspect the Clintons were behind the deaths, just more episodes in the alleged ‘Clinton body count’ dating back to the 1990s.”
On July 10, DNC data analyst Seth Rich was murdered in D.C. in what police believe was a botched robbery. “Some are speculating that Hillary Clinton is behind the murder, because Rich could have been the DNC staffer responsible for leaking the 20,000 damaging DNC emails to Wikileaks. The allegation is that powerful Sanders allies convinced Rich to leak the data,” Alexander argues.
Alexander notes that despite being shot during a robbery, the killer did not take his cell phone or wallet. However, professional mythbuster Snopes.com pokes some holes in the conspiracy theory. For one thing, Rich was still alive when paramedics arrived, leaving him able to blab about the supposed conspiracy. In addition, the neighborhood in which he lived had seen a string of robberies. But mostly importantly, Rich’s position in the DNC was very low-level, making it extremely unlikely that he had access to the info that supposedly required him to be silenced.
Still, Alexander maintains, “What is comes down to is this: how many other politicians have you heard of who have had so many mysterious deaths associated with them?”
