Gazans elected Hamas. Gazan "Palestinians" generally hate Jews and Israel and want them both destroyed. Israel cannot coexist with Hamas. Hamas has inextricably intertwined itself with the Gazan "Palestinian" people. Israel really has no other choice but to fundamentally change the nature of Gaza. It is the right thing to do. It is the moral thing to do. Getting control over an out-of-control area when a country's security and sovereignty is threatened is a legal self-defensive move that has historical precedence (e.g., Poland in the 1790s).

Given all of what has happened Israel has a duty to its people to reimagine Gaza for the security of its own people.
