Crist vetoes Fla. abortion ultrasound measure - Decision 2010- msnbc.com Whether you agree with abortion or not, it's impossible to deny that this procedure was nothing more than a cheap tactic to try and shame women out of getting an abortion. There is absolutely no medical indication for it. If this is what the Florida GOP is throwing up, it's easy to see why Crist left them.
Well fer sure we wouldn't want all those women to see that "baby" that they are getting ready to abort.
such a requirement was intended to be and would have been abusive and harassing. more loveliness from the small government rightwingnut loons... good on Crist. This is why normal people shouldn't be repubs.
so an ultrasound would of been harassing and intrusive for a woman. I wonder if being aborted is harassing and intrusive for a baby? people are sick sick sick, especially lefty-liberals
I agree. For now, Governor Crist has lost my vote in his Senate Campaign. Not only in regards to this particular issue but there have been other issues recently that have turned me aside. I don't know enough about Marco Rubio and so far I have to wait and see who the Democrat nominee will be, but, Crist and I are at odds on too many things. Immie
That's exactly what it was intended to be. Especially in the 1st trimester. I don't delude myself into thinking middle ground will ever be reached on this issue. However, there are certain things that most everyone agrees on. For instance, I agree that there should be a ban on late term abortions (barring health complications). However, this targets women who are getting abortions in the first trimester. It's just trying to use the law to try and manipulate people's choices. Regardless of the issue, the law shouldn't be about attempting to manipulate anyone. I haven't always agreed with Crist, but I think I would support him (if I were a Florida voter - which I am not).
Blah, blah, blah, "dead babies". Blah, blah, blah, the ends always justify the means on this even if it's bad law. Blah, blah, blah. Hey Stephanie, if these women are as evil as you think they are, do you really think an ultrasound is going to change their mind?
