And some think that God is not watching over us.

froggy, surely your faith doesn't come and go with someone else's photoshop ability or a trick of the light?

And if God watches over the US, does he care any less for the people of other countries? Canada, for example? Is God less concerned about Canadians?

God watches over His creation. He doesn't do it to "protect" everyone from everything. He does it because He has a plan for all who seek Him, and He will make that plan come to being.

Therwe were a couple of times in the OT when God wanted to destroy a city, but when a follower pled witth Him not to He agreed that id there were true foillowers there He would not destroy the city, or they would have time to get out. So, you can thank believers who foll,ow God for the protection we have in the world. However, I believe we believers have been slack in our responsibility to seek God and petition for the nations.

God in His very creation has placed reminders of who He is and how much He cares for us. The cross in the flag was not necessarily some specific miracle at the time, it was just the reminder that He placed in the Light of who He is. When you look at the smallest parts of the body, you will be amazed to see the structure that holds it all together. Look it ujp, it is called laminin. Scriptures tell us that God holds all things together. Just think about this, that the structure forms a cross, that holds the cells together. Just a reminder from the creator.

There are many religions in this country , yours is just one

Whose do you see reflected it that flag? See the cross in the stars.

A coincidental play of light.

It's kind of like seeing the virgin Mary's likeness in a potato chip

or cheese toast...god works in wondrous and mysterious ways

This prayer was given in Kansas at the opening session of their Senate. It seems prayer still upsets some people. When Pastor Joe Wright was asked to open the new session of the Kansas Senate, everyone was expecting the usual generalities, but this is what they heard:

"Heavenly Father, we come before you today to ask your forgiveness and to seek your direction and guidance. We know Your Word says, 'Woe to those who call evil good,' but that is exactly what we have done...

We have lost our spiritual equilibrium and reversed our values.

We confess that we have ridiculed the absolute truth of Your Word and call it Pluralism.

We have exploited the poor and called it the lottery.

We have rewarded laziness and called it welfare.

We have killed our unborn and called it choice.

We have shot abortionists and called it justifiable.

We have neglected to discipline our children and called it building self esteem.

We have abused power and called it politics.

We have coveted our neighbor's possessions and called it ambition.

We have polluted the air with profanity and pornography and called it freedom of expression.

We have ridiculed the time-honored values of our forefathers and called it enlightenment.

Search us, Oh, God, and know our hearts today; cleanse us from every sin and set us free.

Amen!"

The response was immediate. A number of legislators walked out during the prayer in protest. In 6 short weeks, Central Christian Church, where Rev. Wright is pastor, logged more than 5,000 phone calls with only 47 of those calls responding negatively. The church is now receiving international requests for copies of this prayer from India, Africa, and Korea. Commentator Paul Harvey aired this prayer on "The Rest of the Story" on the radio and received a larger response to this program than any other he has ever aired.

The prayer of Pastor Joe Wright is the horrifying truth about America. The United States has deteriorated into a large Sodom and Gomorrah! America is a land of Evils! Why should God bless America?

I really don't care if people pray. Just like I really don't care if a child picks his nose. And one can declare the truth about the direction of our country without invoking a deity.
