Global Warming lawsuits will hammer state budgets!

Can it be reversed if it is happening? Many people say no. Concurrently, it would take a global effort and many emerging economies are the biggest culprits. Try getting the Indians and Chinese to reduce their emissions. Not going to happen. So where are we really? I think this all really boils down to more western self flagellation.
When American military has to factor in global climate change, that is proof of the pudding. All else is just bluster. And for what?
The one thing that no one seems to understand about "Global Warming" or "Climate Change" is that everyone on the globe plays a part and if there isn't a global effort then why exactly should I give two shits? That is the idiocy of the western mind. All of this hand wringing and obsessive calls for change when half the damned world could really care less.

Well spoken..if preventable CANCER eats you alive, who gives a shit? Yeah, well like that well, blow it all off. Who gives a shit...pretty scary remark.
3/4 of the world shits while 1/4 shovel? No thanks...scary is being an idiot with a shovel.
So you want us to wade in out own shit? Damn, that is what you are saying. Because the rest of the world may not do a wise thing, we should continue being foolish? You are a fool.
What you fail to grasp is that this is an economic issue. Every nation is competing in the global marketplace. In order for our industries to remain competitive we need every advantage. We deserve to perform on an even playing field. Slapping more regulations on an already highly regulated industrial base is tantamount to fighting a boxing match with one hand tied behind your back.
Further, since this is global climate change it is rather pointless for our nation to engage in CO2 limitation when places like China and India simply fill the gap with their own.
Get emerging economies to limit their output and then we can have a real conversation. Till then, it is absolutely pointless.

However, now that we are putting huge amounts of GHGs into the atmosphere.

Now? You mean its a new thing? I thought we have been curtailing GHGs for ages! We did away with all the old refrigerants used in cars, refrigerators and AC's that were destroying the ozone. Then the new mission became to attack methane even though the Earth stores and regulates it naturally. Then now we moved onto CO2. Carbon is the best because its ubiquitous! It's everywhere! We're made of it! What's next on the list of horrible climate modifiers, water vapor?

Meantime the Milankovic cycles have ALWAYS been a factor, not just in recent times, along with natural geologic and solar activity. But we are to believe the Sun 1.3 million times larger than the entire Earth is much less an effect than CO2 that we breath. And we have made cars way, way less polluting as well, yet the climate threat just keeps going up, up, up.

Bottom line: Man is evil and is destroying the Earth and the climate and Earth will never be right until we rid the solar system of its great evil scourge---- mankind.

Why would actual global warming hammer our economies?

I don't see evidence that this will be a huge problem, unless we see some substantial increase in temp. If anything it may open up more land to be farm-able. If it rains more in some areas, that would make it easier to irrigate.

Sea Level Rise Could Cost Florida $400 Billion in Property Loss

An underwater home typically refers to a mortgage that is higher than the property's value. But as rising seas are expected to increasingly flood South Florida, scientists and economists have warned that the term might be taken literally one day.

A new study recently released by Zillow, the online real estate database, has quantified the effect of sea level rise on property values, and the findings are startling: $413 billion worth of properties are at risk of being at least partially submerged in Florida by 2100 — the most of any state, accounting for half of the nation's total projected $882 billion worth of property at risk of being flooded.

Sea Level Rise Could Cost Florida $400 Billion in Property Loss

And that is just the beginning.

Why do you guys keep posting that nonsense? The waters rise the waters fall in flordia been happing since the earth was born...
Because lying retards like you keep posting lies as to what is actually happening. Note that I am posting from local newspapers for the sites, or from scientific organizations.

What lies ? Seriously dude you didn't know the ocean rose before in flordia????
LOL Really? And how many millions of people were there in Florida at that time? How many trillions of dollars in real estate and buildings? You are one drooling idiot. Are you ever going to contribute anything of substance to this discussion?

OH NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Mother nature doesn't take into consideration where people live as she goes through her cycles. You're the quintessential example of mans arrogance in thinking you can somehow control nature. Guess what sparkey, YOU'RE WRONG, again.

You are one stupid ass. Don't try to put words in my mouth, boy. No, the Milankovic Cycles were not much of a factor when the continents were in a different configuration. The warmth of the Earth is dependent on two things. The energy it receives, and the energy it retains. So the sun gives us our energy. It has been in a slight decline for the last 20 years. The GHGs in our atmosphere determine how much of that energy is retained. We have raised the CO2 in our atmosphere by over 40%, and the CH4 by more than 250%. That is far more than the difference in GHGs between the glacial and interglacial periods of the last 800,000 years.

And I have never stated that mankind was evil. That is the people of many religions that state that. And most of them state that it can be fixed only by giving lots of money to the preacher, priest, or mullah. And I would like to see mankind develop until we replace ourselves with superior beings.

Guess what, dummy, we are doing exactly that. We are making the planet much warmer in a very short time period. And in past geological eras, that has never worked out well for the species then in existence.

Have we found any fossils of their SUVs? LMAO

So you are truly stupid enough to believe that the only way to put carbon and fossil carbon into the atmosphere is SUV's? I do find that easy to believe. Perhaps you should read a bit on the PT extinction.

Lol...... fails to mention that China is building two to three coal plants/ month and will be increasing coal production by 50% in 2050!!!

Hey but they put in $3 for renewables

China's latest energy megaprojects show that coal is really on the way out

China's latest energy megaprojects show that coal is really on the way out

"....To improve the country's air quality, the Chinese government vows to spend at least $360 Billion on clean energy projects and create 13 Million new Renewable energy jobs by 2020.

China's latest energy megaprojects — two giant solar farms in Anhui, one of which will go online in May — could get the country closer to that goal.
[.....]
In late 2017, the country built a massive floating solar farm on top of a former coal mine that had collapsed and flooded.
[.....]
This year marks China's fourth anniversary since it started a "war on pollution," and there's reason to believe the country is making headway
[.....]
Looking at over 200 monitors throughout China, a new analysis found that Chinese cities have cut concentrations of fine particulates — often considered the deadliest type of pollution — by 32% on average since 2013.
[.....]
China is already one of the world's biggest investors in alternative energy sources like solar, wind, and hydropower.

[.....]
The two new solar farms signal the slow decline of fossil fuels like coal in China and other countries around the world.
[.....]

**
China is one of the biggest countries to make a significant move Away from coal. Last year, the country Cancelled 104 new coal plants that were in development across 13 provinces.**
...

LOL.... an opinion piece from liberal-leaning Business Insider magazine.

Only suckers see that China is canceling some cold projects and think that China is moving away from coal. :oops8: But not according to the Energy Information Agency of the Obama Administration in 2016......:spinner::spinner::spinner: just 18 months ago. Here's is their projection on where energy will be in 2040 >>

Coal is going nowhere for decades s0n's....duh.:popcorn:

Not mention actual global warming that will hammer our economies. Like say, all those pesky Pine beetles or say the fact we get less snow or rain in Colorado. Global warming, it's a fact. Look at ski area profits, they are sinking every year.

Maybe, prove it's man made.

Well thankfully, most Americans think self insertion of the big bumpy cucumber isn't a great idea when halfway around the world China keeps burning coal like it is going out of style. And those Americans of course are the smart ones. Dicking yourself for no good reason is kind of st00pid.

When Progressive minds are around obviously analogies must be made to make things clearer.

So by progressive logic, if you live in a decaying neighborhood where most of the houses look like shit, you should go invest 100k and add an extension to increase the value of you home!!!:113::2up:. Well maybe the progressive would be dumb enough to do it, but not most people.

We have plenty of evidence.
... Americans refuse to open their wallet to pay for this shit. Bubble dwellers may not like that but it's the way it is:coffee:

You put your own stupid words in your mouth, I merely repeat them. You don't know SHIT about climate, much less geology or astronomy. The Milankovic Cycles go on endlessly regardless of continental shift. The warmth of the Earth is contingent on THREE things: the energy it receives from the Sun, the energy is produces from within and the matrix of energy absorption/release. Whatever the levels of the gases you mention, many of them are extremely weak contributors, and regardless of your claims, we are still at one of the coolest periods of the Holocene. We will either outgrow our need fossil fuels, etc., eventually or not, and the Earth will survive. If the Earth can't wait that long it will force the issue for us, then the decision is made for us. Either way, then we know for sure. Right now, we don't know what the future holds, we could be heading for another ice age, and forcing radical change in energy before the technology is ready could be engineering our own man-made catastrophe in terms of energy costs and availability.

You are exactly right.... only bubble dwelling fantasy people think Renewables are our future in energy. Solar power still providing us less than 2% of our electricity after 25 years of climate crusader bomb-throwing. Renewables are a joke. Law makers have shown zero interest in sticking their constituents with high electric bills....even Obama is on video in 2007 stating that his plan would be very costly to the American public. And where have we come since then? Paris treaty dead. Cap-and-Trade dead. Climate Change legislation is radioactive.... even when Obama had both houses of Congress nobody cared. Public interest in climate change has never been more pathetic..... and every candidate running on a Green platform in the midterms ends up a train wreck!!

Well we just don't know and that's exactly the point..... so says the IPCC back in the early 1990s. Maybe hardened gamblers are okay with spending 76 trillion dollars based upon a roll of the dice. Most people aren't that foolish, which is why you see solar power only contributing 1.5% of the electricity to our grid. Yep....some people are perpetually angst about the climate....most couldn't possibly yawn any bigger, which the political landscape clearly shows ( lol.... As Trump continues to blow up the EPA :cul2::cul2::deal: )

Global warming lawsuit could hammer OK, other states

The important thing to remember with this story is that advocates of doing something about global warming never factor in the costs. To them costs do not exist.

Unfortunately in the real world they do exist. In States like New York California and Oklahoma where these lawsuits are frequent you can be 100% certain of one thing: the $$ earmark to go for repair of roads and Public Safety will not be going there. Those dollars will be going to pay off these lawsuits.

What I suggest is if you live in these states like I do, put aside plenty of money for extra wheels for your car and extra tires as well. Those Volkswagen Beetle sized potholes are not going anywhere soon. Increased public safety? Sorry... not in the dangerous cities of your states s0ns. Not happening for you....."fuck you..... we have to fight global warming!!"

Necessary trade-offs.... a concept not at all understood by the climate crusaders.:backpedal:
I voted for Trump, but well global warming is a real issue...I am a realist first and foremost. It's happening, kiddo. man made climate change is real, it's here and it's not going to care what our momentary politics or what or how large profit margins are. And it will pretty much end us like the dinosaurs. Maybe I am prejudiced. I want the human race to survive a millennia or two. Besides, 99% of all species that ever existed are now extinct. So the odds are a little long, but, hell...why not?

Well it's happening but let's face it, most people are not worrying nearly to the level that you are. And clearly people are not opening their wallets to do anything about it, which in the end is the only thing that matters to me. The future is painted by the alarmists is way way overboard..... and here in 2018 the people know it. They boned themselves with the big bumpy cucumber with their overreach.... so don't blame me!!
