Glenn Beck Clashes With Creator of Crucified Obama Painting Over First Amendment Hypo

Beck: Media Missed The Point of ‘Obama in Pee Pee’

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

For the past three days, Glenn has been trying to make a point about the Constitution, but the media seems to be missing it. Not surprisingly, the media and the left flew into outrage mode over Glenn’s placing of a fake Obama into a fake jar of urine. They have said that he’s trying to make money and get his name in the paper again. That he’s trying to rile up the left by taking the President and desecrating his image. But the truth is, Glenn has always been about trying to educate through entertainment, but the media once again wants to focus on the presentation and not on the message.

The First Amendment, as is the case with the Bill of Rights, applies only to the Federal government and state and local governments as incorporated by the 14th Amendment, not private persons, organizations, or corporate entities.

Unless a given jurisdiction is attempting through legislative means to ban the ‘Obama doll,’ then there is no ‘First Amendment’ issue in play.

Consequently, and as seems to be the case with most conservatives, Beck is succeeding in only exhibiting his ignorance of the Constitution; he is in no position to ‘educate’ anyone concerning the Founding Document.

You got it. Now if it were a liberal not a word would have been said. In fact it would be advertised as art.

Sure thing kid.

I mean knowing you are a Constututional scholar and all (rolling my eyes)....Its Dads support of the third thing on his "list" that disgusts me...but apparently you support it too.

Its your post dad, sorry.

What the hell are you talking about? You seem to be really, really confused about something.

And ignorant.

In general, pornography is protected speech; obscenity not.

Asking a question isn't implying "support" of anything.

That painting is over 2 years old, and the artist has repeatedly stated he painted it because of republicans who were suggesting democrats worshipped Obama, not because he thinks Obama is Christ like.

Yeah cant imagine why the comments the left made about Obama being god, or obama's comments on lowering the sea levels, or him being their Lord and Savior, have absolutely nothing to do with it.

Oddly, I've seen a whole lot more Righties calling Obama a Messiah or saying that Lefties call him Messiah than actually Lefties calling him Messiah......if you follow what I mean.

Implying that there is a moral relevance between said 3 things IS implying support.

True, I’ve never heard anyone from the ‘left’ refer to Obama as such, either.

It’s something the right dreamed up during the 2008 campaign to show contempt for the then democratic candidate; it eventually crystallized into the Great Teleprompter Myth.

No, it isn't. And it's clear from anyone reading his post that he's not claiming any "moral relevance" between anything.

He's clearly asking you where you draw the line. In no way is he making any statements as to where he draws the line.

Seriously, this is simple stuff.

Sure thing kid.

Says the moron who refuses to read the prior post showing you all of the adulation.

Where does ole Dad draw the line?

Why would any moron like ole Dad even bring up child pornography?

Does Glenn accept pornography as an expression of free speech? Do you? How about child pornography?
