Gallup: Obama's Approval Below Reelection Standard...

a great argument for a legitimate third party

Too bad there wasn't a good 3rd party canidate out there.

im sure there are many great candidates out there. they just dont have the exposure and financial backing to break into the mainstream.

before you ask, i have no idea who they are, but i am not cynical enough yet to believe there are only people out there who are looking to enrich themselves and maintain the status quo

The problem is that in order to get known you need big bucks. The people giving the big bucks have an agenda. Therefore, before someone is even elected, they're already the servants of the status quo. SUPPORT PUBLIC FINANCING OF ELECTIONS. If we're the ones paying, they just might listen to us instead of the special interests.

there is no arguing this logic.

Gallup released a memo earlier this week titled, "Where the U.S. Election Stands Now," comparing past presidential approval ratings with each candidates reelection results. Gallup concluded:

This historical pattern suggests that Obama would need to see his job approval rating climb to 50% to be in a comfortable position for re-election. History shows that by March of the election year, all winning presidents in the modern era, including George W. Bush, had job approval ratings above 50%, and all losing presidents had job approval ratings below 50%. This suggests that where Obama stands by next month may be an important indicator of his ultimate re-election chances.

According to Gallup's most recent daily tracking poll, Obama's current approval rating is even at 47 percent. He has not been over 50 percent since Osama bin Laden was killed last May.

His pushing to continue violating the seperation of church and state by making religious organizations provide services that, in their religions, are sins is going to sink him hard if he keeps it up.

I mean what is next...telling jewish people they have to circumsize the boys at birth for health reasons?

Take a look at GH Bushs nose dive. Just goes to show you how not keeping an election promise can kill your re-election.

Maybe there'll be an election and no one will vote!
I read where the voting participation has been way down with the GOP state caucuses and primaries due to the fact there's alot of unhappiness with the GOP field.
And there's Obama.
There's not alot of enthusiasm out there for anyone right now, right and left.

Yup! Both parties are so far from the main steam that it's unbelievable it's seriously time for a centralist party to come into play. Of course the major parties have made it so difficult for anyone to challenge them, it's almost criminal.

It's still early but this is not a good sign for Obama and Democrats. With all the boot-licking the MSM does for him, he should be doing much better.
