Gallup Daily: Obama Maintains Slim Edge Over McCain

Obama's much anticipated overseas trip enters its sixth day, but so far it has not meaningfully affected the choice for president voters would make if the election were held today. Obama has held a modest advantage over McCain for all but a few days (in which the candidates were precisely tied) since he clinched the Democratic nomination in early June.

If everyone loves Obama so much, shouldn't his lead be a bit more than 2 points? Granted he leads by 6 point among independents, But even that considering the margin of error, is hardly a huge lead.

Thoughts?

Me, I think People are starting to wake up and realize Obama is not the great candidate of change he claims to be, and to the fact that he is sorely lacking in experience as a leader. What wonders never cease.

Just waking up to it? He's never had the numbers to win big. It's going to be a close election no matter what either side says.
