1940's an adult could support the family without government assistance.
1950's an adult could advance the family with a second adult working at least part-time.
1960's same holds true with some families needing government assistance.
1970's requires both adults to work in order to get ahead, more require government help.
1980's both adults work to maintain a standard of living.
1990's both adults work with a reduced standard of living, second job helps to get ahead.
2000's kids move back home, adults may not have jobs, government assistance everywhere.

In the 1940's and before the Church was always there to help the unfortunate. Now, the Government has tried to take the traditional role of the Church. Food stamps have taken the place of soup kitchens. Welfare has taken the place of jobs provided by the businessmen of the church. Are we improving for the better?

A decade of high unemployment is looming - Outlook 2010- msnbc.com

Economist David Levy, chairman of the Jerome Levy Forecasting Center, says the country faces a new era of chronically high unemployment, averaging 8 percent or more over the next decade.

The "New Abnormal," he calls it.

Levy thinks the New Abnormal also means average pay will dwindle, along with consumer prices. That would make it harder for households to pay down debt, he warns.

No society in history has been able to maintain their living standards simply through the economic regurgitation of a credit and consumption economy.

America has to learn how to make or produce things the rest of the world wants to buy, and manipulate trading conditions to her favour, as China does now.

There is no room of free market economic religion here, do what works.

Even despite recent current events in the economy: No one states that any economy wherein, "The rich get richer, and the poor get poorer, doesn't worl." An alternative will be found on line 63 of US federal income tax form 1040, in 2010. There is a relatively equal dollar amount, refundable income tax credit, for rich and poor alike.

The U. S. economy will prosper from increase of Personal Income, and Increase of home values, already underway.

The way in which it does it will become "Change you can believe in," or just more of the Ivy League as usual: Hating Americans, and killing human children worldwide.

"Crow, James Crow: Shaken, Not Stirred."
"Not that anyone has ever paid it much attention, but "Ignorance Of The Law," is actually no excuse!"

Yeah well the programming took a while.

add:

2000+ People will starve with a house full of flour, vegetables and such to prepare food with.
One clue about the whole process.

Seems strange sometimes. We were always sort of proud that the Mrs could stay home and take care of the house and the family while I was at work/deployed. She was even proud that she never had to even learn to drive. She was proud to have been an Army housewife. Now we are older and on a fixed income.....We wonder sometimes........But you know. We are still happy....:eusa_dance::thup::):):)
