Florida Governor Race

Well I'm an Independent and I'll be voting for DeSantis.

You probably should change that, too late now. (For this election)

Yeah, being independent has to suck for FL primaries. You could vote for what, 4 people?

Nope the only thing we can vote for is bullshit in the primaries.

I was a registered Rep but left the party decades ago.

I like being an Independent. I'm the person both sides are always trying to sway to their side.

The last Dem I voted for as POTUS was Carter. The worst vote I ever cast.
why would you ever vote democrat? what is it they offer you?

Bullet taxes! :2up:
they'd tax your shit if they could. there is nothing that is off the table to tax for a demoloser. And people still vote for em. I am perplexed as always while I talk about this shit. :eek-52:

To get a better sense of the numbers are political independents allowed to vote in Florida primaries?

Here in Arizona we independents are free to pick either a Republican or Democratic Party ballot. On Tuesday I picked Republican but in November, the (R) or (D) designations will have very little bearing on my selections.

No, FL primaries are closed. I do not like that system.

If you think "Independents" are going to vote for a Communist...

iu
I'm an Independent. Not all of them are conservatives, ya know.
Yeah, not in Palm Beach, Broward and Dade counties.

The rest of them? I don't know. Make sure to get up there to the panhandle and let them know how much they love the Cuban form of government.

Go ahead, and let them know.

Also, if you think the Cubans down in Dade appreciate the pro castro shit, well you have another think coming. Don't you?

Hey, when is the last time any of us have seen the left condemn castro? Oh, we see them praising him. All of the time.

Why is that? Please old lady. Explain it to us.

I pity the fool that wears a Che Guevara T-Shirt and walks down Miracle Mile.

Some of those people may have actually seen that asshole kill a loved one/friend or something.

Latin 1st instinct? Cut ya. Cut ya deep, Cut ya wide.

I kicked the ever living shit out of a motherfucker 20 years ago. First he was wearing one of those fucking shirts. Second, he mouthed off to me.

He had no idea what he stepped into. Walked up to him and asked if he would like to repeat that. Put my nose to his nose. He swung at me. Well, I had to hire a lawyer. After he got out of the hospital (spent about 2 weeks) he tried to sue me. All witnesses were on my side. He had nothing.

Luckily, my friends got me off of him. I may have killed him. Oh, btw, my grandfather was executed by castro. Along with an uncle who I never met. I am not sorry about my actions AT ALL.

Well, I was in Hialeah then, so yeah, that type of thing would not have been very popular. Not at all. I never saw one. I still don't think I've seen one in real life. I also haven't been to Raiford. Coincidence?

You know, when I was a kid, The Estefan band played my friend's birthday party. It wasn't Gloria leading the band, though. It was Pops wearing a yellow poofly-sleeved shirt. True story.

Sleeves like Big Bird. He did it.

There was that nasty wet Cuban cake, too. Ick.

I never did like that.

Democrats will no doubt try to blur the issues and already tried to paint DeSantis as a racist but the candidates are total opposites. It should be an interesting race. My guess is DeSantis by 25 points.

Is monkey going to be another banned word? We will have to say M word, like the N word.

Not kidding.

I voted in the primaries.

I sat for a while just to see who was showing up.

While many blacks and hispanics are voting Republican, and "profiling" might be slanted or inaccurate.....
but from what I saw at my voting precinct, VERY FEW whites were voting. Blacks, haitians and hispanics where out in force.

As far as I can tell, in many areas, Right wingers are self defeating people who won't lift a finger, except to complain and whine on forums.

If in the seemingly unlikely event the far left Socialist gets elected governor and begins taking guns and creating a mess in Florida, it'll be those same non voting right wingers who'll be here moaning and crying loudest.

Of course, the observation also suggests white Democrats where not out in force either so who knows.

I don't believe that, and it will be Civil War.

Unfortunately, Haitians will probably be at the top of the target list.

You didn't vote for Graham after that? He was a good governor.

The last good Democrat in FL, AFAIK.

Jimmy Carter, oh, God bless him. I admire the guy and he's a good man.

He did do some good things as president (the best he knew how)

He also had some..not good policies.

Didn't move back down here until 2003. I spent ten years in NC and before that close to 20 in NH.

I was brought up her though. Graduated high school at Eau Gallie High in Melbourne, Florida.

What a beautiful town Melbourne is. It kinda is the ultimate FL town.

It's got the beach, the jobs, not much city..

Yup. A nice not to big place to live. I am not a beach person but I do like to ride my horse.

I hauled my boy down here from NC. There are loads of places to ride here and no snow. LOL

You could probably ride right down Cocoa Beach.

Not my favorite beach, but it's still in the top 5, it's like Miami, the crushed shell at the shoreline, not as many man o' wars, that's good.

It's a big beach, when I was there, you could drive right on down.

Get your car swamped by high tide if you're a dumbass.

Decent surf, if you're into that.

Yup. I stay away from the ocean since Jaws came out LOL

I have friends who beach ride all the time though. They need permission to ride most beaches but those are the ones they stick to.

Horses are an expensive hobby but a great way to see nature.

I've been to Ocala where they have loads of trails, stabling and hookups for campers and horse trailers. Great way to spend a weekend.

I have friends in Ocala with land. I need to get me some of that.

Hell we see wild hogs all the time and I once dismounted and saved a grass snake from a chicken snake.

My friends were cringing when I picked up the snake but hell. As long as its not poisonous I have no problem with snakes.

I carried that grass snake for about twenty minutes then just let it go.

Hope your friend has horses and you can ride.
