Hundreds of children across the US have been treated for a rare respiratory virus and more cases are expected in the next few weeks, doctors have said.

The enterovirus, EV-D68, is believed to be the cause of the outbreak and can cause severe respiratory illness.

Twelve states in the US Midwest have reported cases over the past month, with dozens of children admitted into intensive care.

Frequent hand washing and good hygiene help protect against the virus.

This disease is controlled if the children wash but disgusting American children don't appear to be doing so, especially after using the toilet.
Perhaps Americans should clean up a bit in order to control this disease.

Since the original isolation of EV-D68 in California in 1962 (2), EV-D68 has been reported rarely in the United States; the National Enterovirus Surveillance System received 79 EV-D68 reports during 2009–2013. Small clusters of EV-D68 associated with respiratory illness were reported in the United States during 2009–2010

The fact that we're seeing outbreaks all over the US, not just localized in one location, means that some COMMON factor is linking all of these outbreaks together. The most likely common factor is the dispersal of all of those diseased children who arrived recently during our border crisis and who the government dispersed all through the US without first quarantining them to insure that they weren't carriers of infectious diseases.

Yes, maybe we have been misdirecting our resources, wouldnt you agree? Sounds to me that your not really concerned about the children, just bitter.

Brand new clothing in stores should be washed before putting it on..even with tags still attached. Studies were done and excrement has been found on collars, buttons, etc from people trying on the clothing and having filthy hands. So..it ain't just kids.

How many times have you seen someone go into the stall of a bathroom..or men holding their peckers while peeing..and they don't wash their hands afterwards? They just zip up and leave.
