Ferguson isn't about black rage against cops. It’s white rage against progress.

'When we look back on what happened in Ferguson, Mo., during the summer of 2014, it will be easy to think of it as yet one more episode of black rage ignited by yet another police killing of an unarmed African American male. But that has it precisely backward. What we’ve actually seen is the latest outbreak of white rage. Sure, it is cloaked in the niceties of law and order, but it is rage nonetheless.

Protests and looting naturally capture attention. But the real rage smolders in meetings where officials redraw precincts to dilute African American voting strength or seek to slash the government payrolls that have long served as sources of black employment. It goes virtually unnoticed, however, because white rage doesn’t have to take to the streets and face rubber bullets to be heard. Instead, white rage carries an aura of respectability and has access to the courts, police, legislatures and governors, who cast its efforts as noble, though they are actually driven by the most ignoble motivations"

"A little more than half a century after Brown, the election of Obama gave hope to the country and the world that a new racial climate had emerged in America, or that it would. But such audacious hopes would be short-lived. A rash of voter-suppression legislation, a series of unfathomable Supreme Court decisions, the rise of stand-your-ground laws and continuing police brutality make clear that Obama’s election and reelection have unleashed yet another wave of fear and anger."

Ferguson is senseless. I think that there is a desperate attempt to make it into something more meaningful now that the ship has sailed.

Now, that doesn't mean that I don't agree with her otherwise.

The black middle class is largely a product of affirmative action and set asides in government make work jobs.

In the past, the position of a civil servant was an honorable calling. That was when one had to pass an exacting civil service exam to get such a position. Few blacks could pass the test, so they were given jobs anyway.

This has reduced the prestige of government employment.

No justice no peace. It's bullshit. All Brown had to do was walk on the side walk , not shoplift and not attack a armed policeman. Woe onto thee...Jesus. this is pretty obvious stuff.

Ferguson Grand Jury Evidence Reveals Mistakes Holes In Investigation

Add to this the tea party movement’s assault on so-called Big Government, which despite the sanitized language of fiscal responsibility constitutes an attack on African American jobs. Public-sector employment, where there is less discrimination in hiring and pay, has traditionally been an important venue for creating a black middle class.

- Carol Anderson

Actually there is more discrimination in public sector employment. Whites are discriminated against by affirmative action policies.

Private sector employers may pay lip service to affirmative action. Nevertheless, they know that if they do not hire the best people their competitors will. They know that the best people are seldom Negroes.

Because government agencies are not in direct competition, it is easier for managers to hire blacks who are less intelligent than the whites and Asians who apply for the same jobs.

Under qualified blacks in government jobs have reduced the prestige of government service. Where I live most Post Office employees are largely black. I sometimes get envelopes addressed to other people. This means that envelopes mailed to me are sometimes mailed to other people. Some of these envelopes are of critical importance to me.

When Jimmy Carter was president I was a management trainee in DoD. I had been hired in 1975 on the basis of a high score on the "Professional and Administrative Career Exam" (the "PACE" test). This test was the main tool for hiring people who were going to be, basically, administrators and managers for the Federal Government.

But "African Americans" simply couldn't compete on that basis. The hiring decision was limited to the people who got the top couple of scores (small preference given to Veterans and more to Disabled Veterans). So for a couple of years, outside DC (where the government types do whatever the fuck they want to to do), so-called "Black" people were simply shut out of federal government administrative careers.

So Jimmy Carter decreed that the PACE test would not be used any more, and the Office of Personnel Management was going to re-write it in such a way that "minority group members" would "pass" in the same proportion as so-called "White Devils."

We just laughed. There is NFW and no such test that could achieve their declared result. And after a little while of fooling around with that concept, they finally gave up, and decided to do their hiring on the basis of school grades and less tangible qualifying factors. Message: We are going to hire a certain percentage of "Blacks" regardless of what anyone thinks or wants. So if you graduated from Bob's Community College with a 3.7 QPA, you were viewed as being superior to someone who graduated from the University of Chicago with a 3.0.

And this is really what gave "Affirmative Action" a bad name.

They were hiring people who couldn't, on the best day of their lives, put together a coherent, logical paragraph, and promoting them to management positions It was necessary to promote them, of course, because they couldn't actually do competent work, and by making them managers it was usually possible to hide the fact of their ignorance and incompetence, because they had competent, "White" subordinates.

Can you understand, "window dressing"?

Just imagine that scenario for 350 plus years and you have white AA.

Blacks do not perform poorly because of what happened to their ancestors generations ago. They perform poorly because they are intrinsically inferior.

Fuck 'em, you get the government you deserve.

You know the real source of the rage, all over black America?

Barack Hussein Obama has been in office 6 years and blacks are worse off than before he got elected.

The individuals they would have voted for if they did vote won anyway. County Attorney Democrat, Governor Democrat...

More about ongoing economic disparity than the actual shooting. Any excuse to riot and loot will do. But before people will riot, they all need a good excuse. Thus the hyped up narrative about a supposedly racially-motivated shooting.

Media's most to blame for the rioting. If they hadn't covered things only ones who'd know about it are the immediate vicinity people and whomever they told online. But it wouldn't have attracted all the outside agitators and activists it wound up getting. Media loves a good riot.

Sure the election of obama gave hope, but it was short lived because of obama and hope hasn't been seen since.

I sometimes wonder if the many people back in the 50's might have been right. There were many that claimed that integration would never work. It is very difficult for anyone to say it has been a great success. Perhaps communities that are predominately black should have nothing but black peace officers. As silly as many think this might be perhaps when you dial 911 I am black send a black officer or I am white send a white officer. Really as long as the likes of Al Sharpton and many others continue to spread the "we are so oppressed" feeling among the blacks things will never work out.
