With few exceptions, America does not have a free press. Hasn't for decades.

If media stop publishing fake news, they won't be accused of publishing fake news.

Easy, eh?

Trump's 'Fake News' Rhetoric Is Going To Get Someone Killed | HuffPost

It kind of works like this...

You just can't call "fake news" on every story you don't like.......kind of like the boy who cried wolf

If Trump thinks it is fake, the burden is on him to say why he believes it is fake and provide any evidence to the contrary

Media must first supply the positive. The constant claim of unnamed sources doesn't fly.

Communist apparatchiks who undermine the country through agitprop should be killed just like any other traitor, but we need to purge the rest of the commies from the state in order to get it done.

Media has used unnamed sources for over a hundred years. That is how news is generated

This is where reputation come into play. The New York Times has a reputation for high journalistic standards and their stories are thoroughly researched and cross checked. Stories based on unnamed sources are generally confirmed

Now lets compare to the reputation of our President...He is a known source for fake news, his weekly claims of fake news are no longer credible and his penchant for lying is legendary

Sean Hannity confirmed the story on air last night

Does that make him bird cage liner too?

Shrug. The principle players deny it today. Perhaps his source was biased, or the sister of a cousin of someone he knows at work. It happens.

Nationalist and populist sentiments are making their way into the mainstream. Elections and democracy are maintained but those in power who seek to undermine every institution that gives democracy meaning. The rise of populist movements are being funded by right-wing billionaires intent on reducing governmental constraints on their business interests. These movements have struck a chord among white people who feel like security is slipping away, their social status and privileges eroding, their cultural identities threatened by outsiders.

You have to believe in facts. Without facts, there’s no basis for cooperation. If I say this is a podium and you say this is an elephant, it’s going to be hard for us to cooperate.

He applied the analogy to the U.S. withdrawal of the Paris Climate Accord, noting that if American leaders deny the existence of climate change, even though most scientists around the world have reached consensus on the issue, it will be hard to cooperate with other countries on the issue.

The denial of facts could be the “undoing” of our democracy.

Thanks Obama. Good words.

Yea but just wait. For example, he is backing these super fast jets for the rich that are going to reek havoc on our environment.

He just hasn't had time to roll back all the regulations that got us to lead the world in CO2 reduction.

I can't find the article I just read today but Trump is endorsing these 3 companies that produce these really fast jets that are bad for the environment but will get rich people from America to Europe a lot faster. I'm sure you will support these airplanes for 2 reasons.

1. They will be made in America
2. You worship rich people and want to go along with whatever they want to do.

Boom supersonic is one of the 3 companies.
