On the interstate in the snow. Melted the tensioner too.

Sigh.....
 
That belt tensioner hadn't already been squealing for a while? You need to look under the hood when you start hearing noises like that, unless you like being stuck on the side of the road.

Nope. Heard a clicking sound briefly this morning on the highway. Got to the jobsite, took a peek. Nothing out of the ordinary. Left the jobsite and about 30 minutes later, BAM.

it doesnt take long for a bearing to seize at those RPMs once it starts,,,

is that a ford??

OK,, thought the alt. was on the wrong side for a ford,,,
