EGYPT: US about to make another Iraq style blunder in ME

I was a Republican for many years. Now the party is crap.

Except for a few wedge issues like gay marriage, blah, blah, blah, There is no daylight between the two parties.

i agree.....i was a diehard Democrat for many years.....now that party is crap....being an Independent is nice...now i can say both parties suck the big one and are leading this nation down the road to mediocrity.....

I had stated during the last presidential campaign that Obama was too much like Bush and McCain was no different. I noticed that Ron Paul, Dennis Kucinich, and Cynthia McKinney voted with each other more than they did their own party. I made a list of issues important to me and where different candidates stood on those issues.

Bullshit. The Republican Party is 90% white and mostly Christian. They support a leadership that screws them on a daily basis.

The Democrats are a coalition party made up of gays, straights, men, women blacks whites christian atheists muslim uneducated educated college-professors scientists conservative liberal and so on.

Miles of difference between the two parties.

Huey Long felt yours and PF's pain back in the 1930s.

He looked at DC and saw a restaurant that served only one dish. Republican waiters and Democrat waiters lined opposite walls, but whichever party delivered your order..."all the grub came from Wall Street's kitchen."

Huey would have known how to use the internet to FLUSH Republicans AND Democrats from DC.

Both parties (and Wall Street) have outlived their usefulness to the Republic.

What many Americans fail to understand is "They are NOT us".

Many Americans, especially the right actually believes the rhetoric, "They hate us for our freedom". It has been repeated ad nauseum until the average American believes it's true. Like, "Obama is a socialist/Kenynan/Muslim" until even some Democrats believe it. Or "Obama took a two hundred million dollar a day trip".

America needs to "STAY OUT OF THE MIDDLE EAST".

Look at what happened in Iran. The Shah was kicked out, and the country became a hard right Islamic Theocracy the first chance they got. Republicans with the forced help of Democrats invaded Iraq and destroyed those people's government and the first time they vote, they vote into office a hard right Islamic Theocracy. It's even written into their constitution. You only need to read Article II to know that to be true.

Now America is saying Egypt must have "freedom" to vote and look at what they will vote into office. You can guarantee it will be a hard right Islamic Theocracy. Those people are wired that way.

In fact, if our freedoms weren't protected by our constitution, the religious right would create a hard right Christian Theocracy here. That's what the religious do. Because they do it for "Gawd".

If we weren't dependent on ME oil and if we stayed out of their affairs, this is what would happen:

Either:

They would become a democracy, which would end up making us safer.

Or:

They would become a religious theocracy, which would mean they are anti science and would be no threat to us. Science and religion don't mix. We know that looking at our own right wing.

This is why America needs to invest in our future and get us off foreign oil. Anything else will once again lead to disaster.

what color is it? :eusa_eh:

Oil brought America and the world into the industrial and technology era we have used to make America great,,, without oil we would still be making buggy whips and cavalry swords,,, they're is no turning back history only the future that we are not in complete control of.
Oil was a opportunity America exploited with great gusto and efficiency as did the Western World.
The only time the Middle East was not in turmoil was when the despots ruled in accordance with the primitive by our standards ethnic needs of the peoples of the region.
The word Byzantine is a apt word for the peoples of the region, they are a race born to game the system whatever it may be.
The Pragmatism of the west is not part of their heritage in my opinion.
Our understanding of the people of the M.E. is biased toward our needs,,, that is the eternal conflict we have fought about for centuries,,,, and we are still infidels who by Mohammad's edicts must submit to the faithful or perish,,, they are missionaries with soup pots and a menu and we cannot hide,,,, we may need to make a fuss over our positions,,,, they are.

It is interesting that you cannot stand Cynthia McKinney but you are virtually lockstep with her on the Issues.

You didn't vote for someone who was against you on all those issues, did you?

only to Automatons like yourself Dean......to the people who make up their own minds.....not much of a difference....only the method employed to gain control....

McKinney and Pelosi - that covers both ends of the political spectrum. And besides that, they hate each other.

It is not about left or right. Pelosi would fall into the Obama/McCain camp on almost all of the above issues. McKinney falls in line with the Constitution and Libertarian Parties.

I don't know what you would call that.

I'm very disappointed in my U.S. Government. We have no business being involved with creating Egypt's new Government. Just more meddling that will definitely come back to haunt us. When or if their new Government is a disaster, who do you think the Egyptians will blame? I can i assure you it wont be themselves. They'll just blame "Mean Ole America" again. We should have been neutral on this whole affair. Egypt's new Government will now be our responsibility. It's just another Foreign Policy blunder on our part. I don't want my Government involved with creating Egypt's new Government. It will surely be all America's fault when things fall apart again over there. Aggressive Foreign Interventionism is such a Lose/Lose proposition for our Nation. But we just can't help ourselves i guess. It is very sad.
