In their Nature paper, an international team of scientists said that the majority of the Earth's terrestrial store of carbon was in the soil.
They warned that as the world warmed, organisms living in the planet's soils would become more active, resulting in more carbon being released into the atmosphere - exacerbating warming.

Sassy, I still think people like Matty should tell everyone what the ONE, Correct, PERFECT, temperature is for planet earth. How do we get to perfect climate? Everything that happens from volcanic eruptions to cows farting affect the climate, does it not! So, what should we all do? I guess just sit still, don't breath, and we will hit that correct temperature-)

Then, 2016, at least one place in Texas that had two five hundred year floods, and one thousand year flood. Thousand year flood in Louisiana and West Virginia. Greenland melt exceeds worst predictions. Fire in Alberta burns over 1000 square miles and a town, as well as some oil exploration camps. 700 passenger luxury cruise ship went through the Northwest Passage last summer. I think we have already passed some tipping points.
A tipping point is not what most people think it is. Imagine a canoe going down an unexplored river, a large, broad river running fast with lots of bends. You hear a roar in the distance. But you can's see anything ahead, and you are miles behind where you wanted to be at this time. So you stay in middle in the fast part of the river. And round a bend to see a high water fall directly ahead of you. As you go over, you have hit a tipping point, right? Wrong. The tipping point was the last place that you could have made it to shore without going over the falls. Unmarked, and you did not know when you passed it.
