Funny how trying to do things for the American people is Socialism to the Conservatives. Pass laws to help business, build the military, control labor, abuse the environment and you are a good legislator.
Pass laws that help people and you are a freak'n Socialist
Charaties, non-profits exist to "help people". Plus churches and other religious organizations...
I would love to afford to donate more of my money to these organizations. Why should we let Daddy Gubmint, the most inefficient and corrupt organization in the country, control what is essentially charitable giving?
Too many greedy paws in big gubmint... Non-profits know how to stretch a buck... I'm not saying there's no corruption in NP's, but compared to Uncle Same? Puh-leeze...
It's a fact that less overhead means more goes to those who need it...
Less overhead? Have you seen what executives at those "Non-profits" make???

Much less than the gubmint....
The Gov't thinks its theirs they keep taking all they can get of it.
The money I earn belongs to me... the state just thinks its theirs.
.
nope, the money itself belongs to Caesar. If you buy property with it you have limited rights to that property, but the money itself is on loan, not lease, and not for sale.
Which is why it is illegal to fuck up a nickel even if it is "yours".
What if everybody in the private sector stopped working where does the government get it's money?
Sorry but my money is my money.
I tell you what you need to do if you think the government owns everybody's money pay my share to.

Show me anyone in government who makes these salaries

the government prints the money, it is theirs to make and use how they wish, it says so right in the constitution. Which is why they can print more any day they choose.
You don't have any of your own money and you never will, if you try to print your own you will eventually be shut down like the FreeMen were.

or does the ownership pass to the state somewhere at some income level?
Folks keep on saying that reducing tax rates from 35 to 30 is a "giveaway" on high incomes. Since the person earned it in some fashion, how does that 5% belong to the state so that they could "give it away?"
