Does Florida’s “Don’t say Gay Bill” prohibit instruction on heterosexual couples?

What K-3 level courses talk about stuff like that?

You learn numbers, you learn letters, phonics, maybe how to identify things like fire trucks and houses. Then by 3rd grade you get to basic math and paragraph structure.

Many, many childrens books have stories about heterosexual families
Mommy and Daddy is a discussion of sexual orientation

The law is intentionally vague
That leaves schools open to lawsuits about heterosexual content

Exactly my point

The bill doesn‘t say gay
It says “sexual orientation” of which heterosexuality is a sexual orientation

It also says “gender identity” so material where a male identifies as a male is a violation
There is no need to teach sex to children in kindergarten or the 3rd grade

You want the lib teachers to impose sex education on 5-year olds?

read the bill....

OK
Show where the bill specifies homosexuality and not heterosexual relationships

Lets talk gender identity

Show where the bill only applies to men identifying as women, or women identifying as men

You wouldn't be here without heterosexuals.....none of us would...its the natural way...which means homosexuals are not natural nor normal and never will be no matter how many laws are passed....

That's a reach. Lets see someone sue over it and see how far they get.

mommy and daddy are people, and while usually assigned certain gender ROLES, if you don't talk about the meaning behind those roles, I doubt the law is broken.

Has nothing to do with the bill

The law doesn’t say talking about sex

It specifically prohibits talking about sexual orientation without specifying WHICH orientation

So that would mean discussing heterosexual as well as homosexual orientations
Good.

The Bill states “Classroom instruction by school personnel or third parties on sexual orientation or gender identity may not occur in kindergarten through grade 3 or in a manner that is not age-appropriate or developmentally appropriate for students in accordance with state standards."

The bill does not specifically specify discussion about homosexuality.
So if a teacher reads a book about a family with a Mommy and a Daddy, isn’t that a discussion of their sexual orientation?

Is a book written about a little girl or a little boy identifying their gender identity?

According to the law, a school system can be sued if a teacher provides instruction about ANY sexual orientation …..Heterosexual, Homosexual or Transsexual
What the hell is wrong with you? Let our children be children. Teach them to read instead of how to masturbate.
We weren't assaulted with sex in Kindergarten, and we figured it out all right. Get this bullshit and the people that want to teach it out of our classrooms and away from our children.

Lets have the ACLU sue over heterosexual orientation and have the court reject it.

How can the court enforce the law about homosexual orientation when the law doesn’t say homosexual?

These are children not lawyers. They are not going to pick apart what they hear and why would it need to have a sexual meaning? You don't care about the children, you care about an agenda. Creepo.

Nobody is upset that you’re gay.
We’re upset that you want to make it common public conversation.

Sorry, but children will not be interpreting the law
The courts will

If a law doesn’t specify which sexual orientation can’t be taught, then it applies to all sexual orientations……including heterosexual

Because if you don't bring it up in the specific context of orientation and gender, you aren't discussing orientation and gender. Saying someone has parents, two mommies, two daddies, one and one, or (more commonly in poor minority communities) being raised by grandma and grandpa is talking about situations, not trying to explain about orientation and gender bullshit, and THAT's the purpose of laws like this.
