Do you know left wingers still blame the 2008 housing bubble on just Booooosh?

Of course we know that. Aren't they pathetic?

Lets play a keep-em-honest experiment:

Mentally switch the name of the person who was in White House 2001-2009 from Bush to Obama.

Ready? Ok who's fault was 2008 Great Recession...GO!

Who cares?

Bush-43 was one of the most honorable men ever to reside at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, and anyone with sufficient interest in reality knows it.

And yet, Google the expression, "Bush lied..." and watch your computer explode with all the hits. Not "Hillary lied," not "Bill lied," but "Bush lied." And the "lie" to which they refer was the acceptance by Bush-43 of the intelligence information provided by our own military and civilian intelligence services. It was not a lie at all.

Lefties are not often burdened with such trivialities as facts.

Clinton was just as responsible, for the regulatory framework that lead to the housing boom and dotcom crash.

Clinton, the Lame Duck, dogged by impeachment proceedings over the Lewinsky Scandal, signed the legislation which originated in the Republican House and Senate, into law. But make no mistake - this was a Republican bill.

Bush made it a goal to make every American a home owner. He pushed it hard.

Which legislation is that?

maybe, just maybe, there is a huge machine in place, and it doesn't matter one damn bit which party owns the title of POTUS.

They blame everything on Bush.....their battle cry for the last 7 1/2 years has been Bbbbuuuuuutt BOOOOOOOOSH!!!!

The Great Recession was triggered by the housing bust (for which those to blame runs in the millions of Americans), but was just a manifestation of a stagnant economy that was artificially stimulated (and hidden) by housing for a decade. It was no president's "fault." We are simply too productive.

Fewer and fewer people are required to make and service the things we need, so the economy must be supported by something artificial - like building houses we don't need.

Now the economy is stimulated by more and more things and services that we DON'T need, like cell phones, I-Pods, games, bottled water, craft beer, insanely-expensive coffee and meals, elaborate vacations, "fitness" services and products, expensive entertainment options, ever-changing clothing styles, and so on. Consider: many of the most valuable companies (based on market cap) in our economy could not even be explained to someone transported here from 1970. "Google"? What the hell is THAT? Apple? Yahoo? Microsoft?

The basic "problem" is productivity, fueled by technology. If everyone only bought what we need, our economy would totally collapse within a month. We MUST spend our money on frivolous, unnecessary things and services in order to keep the economy afloat. All the President can do is to give us a warm, fuzzy feeling, so that we are confident enough in the future to continue wasting our money on things we desire, but don't need.

Sick, isn't it?

Or we could switch to a 20-hour work week and have full employment!

Who are they going to blame for the stock market crash that many successful investors see coming?
Icahn and Soros Make The Short Stock Bet of a Lifetime

Even Liberal George Soros is bearish towards the market right now.

What is interesting to note here, the S&P has doubled since BO took office. Think about that. The president who talks about spreading the wealth and lifting the downtrodden has presided over an economy that has made the rich even richer through a rising stock market, while wages and growth for "his people" have been stagnant. How do we reconcile this? I know - blame it on Bush.

Barney Frank & his ilk
I just don't understand how this can be said, when Barney Franks, even in his famous video on Fannie and Freddie, was in the MINORITY, in the House....there was NOTHING at all that Barney could stop Republicans from doing, if they proposed to do it....

So how could Barney Frank and his ilk, in the minority, do any thing at all to affect any thing at all in this mess?

The fault lies with all of the Congress but Frank is leading the charge.
The poster asked a question and I gave my assessment
