For Christmas? No. Buddhists have other practices of generosity that are offered regularly.

Well, our household gives year-around but during the winter months we give more to shelters for the homeless.
And of course there is Toys-for-Tots a huge favorite charity during Christmas, I mean the holidays, no I mean Christmas.

I quit giving when I looked up how much money the CEO's of the non profit organizations make yearly. Red Cross, United Way, etc. all make six figures. I don't give money to rich folks, they steal enough as it is.

I give canned food to the local stores whoe distribute to the poor in my community. Charity starts at home.

I get my brother a cheap sweater each year. It's become a standing joke. kinda fun.
