Do Republicans have it right? Get rid of pre-existing condition protections on healthcare?

Send it to the states.
Blue States will take care of their people.
Red States will watch their people suffer and the people will cheer.

Let them.

That's what we've been telling you for years....asswipe.

Now that you can't fight it.....you get on board.

Suck on it.

You'll need those in Chicago where everyone seems to have a gunshot wound.
I live in Chicago.

You want danger, move to Appalachia.

Yes, I know you live there...hence the context of my post.

Please show me how dangerous Appalachia is relative to Chicago.

Chicago is always on the list of dangerous places to live.
Not only is past history in Appalachia appalling:

‘Rape Rooms’: How West Virginia Women Paid Off Coal Company Debts

But current history is as well with a growing infant mortality rate and a falling life expectancy.
Then you have all the drugs.

Infant mortality and life expectancy sinks in Appalachia

Appalachia is a sh!thole that Republicans keep that way. Terrorize those poor white people into voting GOP.

Because a small section of Chicago has a problem doesn't mean the entire city does.

How did Chicago — yes, that Chicago — rank as one of the world’s safest cities?

Hope that helped.

Have you ever been to ChiTown?

Is it geography or guns which make a place dangerous or not?

Do you believe more guns make an urban area safer?
[as a young man I went back packing in wilderness areas in CA. and always brought a rifle]

Your employer changes insurance programs and you're no longer covered for pre-existing such as cancer? You're still going to need Healthcare, so that means the taxpayer will have to fund.
If you already have insurance, cancer isn't a pre-existing condition....It's what you buy insurance in advance for.

The healthcare industry is set to make a record profit this year. Think about the profit they will make your pre-existing becomes exempt.
So it's OK to loot them...Got it.
I wonder if that covers the Wet backs who come across the border "knock up" as a pre existing condition?

A death panel is a description when an insurance company decides the cost to provide medical treatment is too costly, and they refuse to pay, for example, for any more kidney dialysis.

The insurance company is legally obligated to compensate the policy holder for whatever the policy stipulates. They don't get to decide, after the fact, whether they are going to pay for a given treatment. So I'm not really sure what you're talking about.

Correct, and that is in the fine print. Insurance companies are in business to make money, and insurance brokers don't point out the fine print.
The funny thing about insurance companies is they don't employ doctors or nurses. They don't create drugs or do research.
All they do it skim money off people's insurance policies. That's it. They are office bureaucrats who skim money.
They are the middle man.

Don't know about the drugs but all do employ doctor's.

Your argument is in only an argument in your mind.

You have data that shows it, please share.

Chicago is always high on the list of murders per capita.

The answer to the question posed in your link provides you with some insight as to why you might get the mistaken impression you can avoid getting shot there:

So how did the Windy City get chosen as one of the world’s 20 safest cities in the Economist Intelligence Unit’s rankings this year, beating out other American cities like New York, Washington and Dallas?

The short answer, according to Crain’s Chicago Business, could have something to do with digital security. The rankings don’t only look at personal security — they also look at digital security, health security and infrastructure security. Digital security, the index says, is how well city residents can freely use the internet without fearing privacy violations or identity theft — and how well-protected the city’s power grid, water supply and communications systems are from cyber attacks.

I feel real safe there.

Food for thought for those who do, others may now use the funny button:

Is there a difference if a person pays a tax or a fee?

Yes. One is voluntary, the other coerced.

Point taken. All taxes are, and taxes are lawful and so stated in Art. I of COTUS.

Right. Private businesses aren't granted the power to force people to buy their products, with the notable exception of ACA.

True, so you must support a single payer system, Medicare for all.

No, I support freedom for all. We don't need government telling us how to take care of ourselves.

This is about pre existing conditions and USMB Republicans work over time to whine about people with guns.

You know, the people whose rights they protect? Even school shooters who shoot toddlers.

Right wingers say here, take this gun and shoot a bunch of people.

Then they say oh look at how dangerous these liberals are.

You can't arm people than then complain when they shoot someone. You armed them. What did you expect?

We do need government to act when 100 people a day OD on opiates. Trump said so, and has done zip in them months and months since he spoke. How's that worked out for families?

Fuck Trump. He's as wrong as you are.

Sorry folks,

The GOP can do whatever it wants.

Clearly, they don't want to repeal ACA.

They want to repeal the Patient Protection part of the Affordable Care Act, and create a new form of health care which protects Insurance companies' profit.

They will scream "SOCIALISM!" and convince the biddable to support corporatism but never whisper that word or explain how it will harm the many.

ACA protects insurance company profits. That was its overriding goal. That's why Republican's aren't repealing it.

Exactly how does it protect the insurance industry?
