OK - what's going on? About an hour ago, I posted on a thread introducing a new member. I can't remember her full screen name, but it was "Kitty" something.

Now, the thread is flat gone. There were only about 8 or 9 posts on the thread. Nothing outrageous or odd; nothing deserving of wiping the thread out.

Why was it wiped out? Huh?

Oh, George, I just thought of something. Sometimes a person starts to post in a forum, doesn't like the attitude formed after talking to a few folks, and request to be stricken from the record. That happened to me once. I requested a full obliteration of my 3 or 4 posts and omission of my name from their database. Seems they called themselves Conservatives, but when I got in and saw posts that were unavailable to nonmembers, it was all about a cultlike extremist gang of people, and reading some of the stuff they were saying and doing was not what was expected considering the gold star they gave themselves in their pitch for new members. :lmao:

OK - well, then, let's listen to some music! One of my all-time favorites and I hope one of yours too:

Gosh, I didn't realize that Jim Croce had that good of a good voice, and it came out in that song. ^ ^. Thanks for posting it. :)

Here's another for loves lost *sigh*:

Great! Always liked that one.

Everyone knows all about "El Paso" by Marty Robins. Ever heard this one?

It's pretty, George. It's so much like El Paso you could almost get them confused. :)

Same type of theme as El Paso.

OK - I assume you saw "Bridges of Madison County." I'm not all that big on chick flicks, but this one got my attention for a reason I will share with you some other time if you are interested. In any event, the culmination of everything between Francesca and Robert Kincaid takes place in the kitchen, following a phone call that comes in unexpectedly which Francesca answers.

This song is played during what ensues following her hanging up the phone. Talk about a love song . . .

A post script. Clint Eastwood directed "Bridges." He is a jazz buff, and selected all of the songs that were played during that movie, several of them performed by Johnny Hartman. I have to confess - I had not been at all familiar with Hartman's work until seeing that movie. He was quite the jazz vocalist.

Eastwood is quite a guy. I was reading something about his love for music somewhere, how he was very particular about the music in his films. I'm not surprised he'd like that kind of soft shoe jazz. Very nice, Mr. Costanza. ;)
