Did New England interview any other coaches before hiring Meyo?

Or.. is the Rooney Rule blacks only?

What about an Asian coach? Or a Hispanic coach? Or (gasp) a white coach? It seems they just hired a coach, no interviews of other minorities or races.

How terrible, discriminatory, and racist would the Rooney rule be if that’s how it happened.

Teams should just hire who they want. Why the latest example of soft bigotry from the left to “help” the poor helpless black candidate?

Conservatives and right wing sports fans think they can get the job if they’re qualified. Leftists think quotas.. aka, pro-racism

No. They had the agreement with Mayo in place at the beginning of last year. Part of the big reason things were so dysfunctional this year. They get around the Rooney rule because..well, Mayo is black. Goodell and the league office aren't gonna say anything.

So, they promoted a assistant coach and former Pats player in house......Big hairy deal. :dunno:

A linebacker for the Patriots from 2008 to 2015 after being selected in the first round of the draft out of Tennessee, Mayo joined Belichick's coaching staff in 2019, serving as linebackers coach.

I don’t have a problem with what happened

I have a problem with the double standard, that if Mayo were white he’d not be allowed to be immediately hired and they’d be required to interview ONLY black candidates first (not Asian, not Hispanic)… just black.

Talk about privilege
