Democrats & Religion

Politics & Religion...

So what's the deal here?

If Democrats attend regular religious services how can they be so outraged by positions on ethics, morals and Christian religious beliefs and the Jewish Toras Chaim "instructions for living" espoused by politicians?

It just seems odd to me....

The other question, why attend services if they don't actually believe in what their being taught?

The difference between democrats and republicans on the subject of differing religious opinion is that democrats tend to protect the rights of folks to be wrong, while republicans use the difference of opinion to create distracting wedge social issues used to move the focus of the discussion away from alternatives to "trickle down economics".

Anything to protect the status quo.

Santorum has never said that he wants to outlaw abortion, or the pill.

Why is he even talking about it, then? He sure acts like he'd like to effect one's private decisions. He should be talking about preserving the rights of non-religious workers to follow their own conscience, instead of saying that providing the same insurance millions of Americans have is tantamount to committing "forbidden" acts, themselves. That's like saying, if someone is executed, we're all guilty of murder.
