democrats left in the sixties

It is definitely true a lot of racist democrats left the Democratic Party in the 1960s. We also see the trend again under Obama as the number of people who identify as democrat decreased by half. Could the same racism be at play in the Democratic Party to this day?

I hope not, I hope that it is our country waking up to how broken the parties are and that the American people are no longer represented by the American government
