I think Bernie will really stand up for us. Bill Clinton let us down a few times triangulating and compromising with the Republicans. I think Bernie will really stand up to the rich.

College can be done the same way as all other public education.

Local colleges are affordable..it is the university's that are crazy expensive. This is why the kids are liking Bernie, for Affordable college..not free.
My son just started his freshmen year at a university..it is so expensive.

Yawn......who cares? Neither can win the general election. hiLIARy is under investigation by the FBI, and is an untrustworthy liar who can't even get the female vote (unless they're over 65!) . Bernie Sanders is a crackpot that simply cannot be taken seriously.

One of them can win and here's how: If the GOP nominates Cruz (with the Canadian birth certificate), Rubio (the far-right robot) or Bush (seriously? Dubya-2?)...

Kasich might win against one of them...maybe...depending on what Trump does with his flock. There was one candidate that could've beaten either Hillary or Sanders handily...and easily shaken up Trump and assimilated his flock.. But Fox News' Rove machine decided they didn't want a dynamic free thinker just left of far far right.

But I don't agree with free college. Make it only $5k a year but not free. Nothing is free.

College should be free as public school k-high school.

no, it can't, because the states pay for schools through property taxes an no way Jose' can my husband and I afford being taxed a dime higher than what we are taxed now in property taxes to pay for other people's children's schooling. We have never been able to have children, have never had a child in the school system and will never be able to have children and simply can NOT afford to pay more than the thousands a year we already do pay, in property taxes for schools.

You can't get blood out of a turnip.

The money has to come from elsewhere....

Like how about just REDUCING the cost of college in State schools, why has it gone up sooooooooo much since I was college age? What the heck is going on with college prices?

The whole reason college is unaffordable is because the price of college has risen so much.

Are we paying professors too much, are we paying administration too much compared to yesteryear?

Are we not being frugal in means that we could be, by let's say putting books online to make them cheaper?

Who is getting all of this money these poor students are having to pay?

We can make it free that's a cop out. There's no reason why Public College shouldn't be available and free for everyone no reason at all.

Every state has to provide public education for k-high school and they can include to Public College.

No, honestly they can't...there is not enough to pay for a decent k-12 education, let alone college as well.... it would have to come from federal taxes.... if Bernie wants to Fedeally mandate it.

the best States can do is find a way to reduce the cost of college, by cutting salaries and admin fees, by putting in solar so their electric costs go dow or heat pumps so their air conditioning and heating costs go down.... or whatever way they can manage the money they are given each year in a more efficient way to reduce the higher pricing of a college education....

And other means could be done too... as example.... Maine will reimburse the tuition costs for any college grad Dentist to come and work in our state for 4 years or so, or whatever it is..... so that we can have more Dentists willing to serve the people in our State....they get paid a salary as well, but not an astronomical one, while they work here and walah!, their Dental Degree is paid for by us.....

Maybe a work for college program....once you get your degree, you can be reimbursed for it, if you work for it in some sort of Public service....that the States need? I dunno??

Maybe a combination of things like this, along with finding ways of lowering the cost of tuition and books so you don't have to borrow boocoos amounts of money?

Why was college in State schools at one time, affordable and now it is not? When I was of college age, you could work full time in the summer, and part time while going to college, and pay for it yourself..... what has changed??

I have to hand it to Hillary she is very commanding on the debate stage and she soars when it comes to foreign policy. I like some of the things Bernie says but his weakness on immigration and constant harping on income inequality is a huge turn off. He has all these grand plans and I don't buy it for a moment that taxing Wallstreet is going to pay for all his lofty goals.

I don't think anyone won the debate per se but for me the take away is that if Hillary is the nominee she is going to be a force to be reckoned with. She knows her stuff and her experience really shows.

Trump is the only one who will be able to take her to task on the issues and shut her down on the debate stage. She can't prepare for that street brawl.
