Refusing to raise the debt ceiling is voting for default. you're voting against paying for the things that your own Congress voted for.

When was the last time a democratic party majority threatened to not raise the debt limit?
NEVER

Little Coward, I asked you, Do you favor default?
what party is the one who came up with the idea of threatening to NOT raise the debt limit?
Its the republican party.
When Bush was president it was the Democrats, and Obama.... Should we go back more or did recorded history on the deficit begin this year because you can use it as a talking point?

Of course not the Left doesn't seem to care what it does to our Nation nor to our Children who will be the ones responsible for pay it back

"The fact that we are here today to debate raising America's debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. ... It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our government's reckless fiscal policies." -- Barack Hussein Shovel-ready was not as uh .. shovel-ready as we expected (laughs)" Failed Leader Obama

Refusing to raise until such time as we see responsible cut's take place where the budget from the failure?
Will the default harm the country?
Little Coward, I asked you, Do you favor default?
I favor it over what we have now from the GOP and Obama yes. The reason and this is important is because if they (Obama/Republicans) don't balance the budget we will inevitably default. If you support Obama's plan or even what we know of the GOP's plan (not much yet) then you support defaulting on the budget, just not today.

You are lying.
they talked about his wreakless spending but never once threatened the same thing the republicans are now threatening.
Then you guys turn arround and say it wont harm anything to default.
Then the Rs in the house wave the threat arround liuke a bomb.
So what is the reallity?
that the Rs will do and say anything for party and dont giv e a rasts ass about the American people or the country.

There is not time between now and August to decide what is / is not reasonable to cut- Obama suggested a few billion in cuts for subsidies and Norquist etal went ballistic. How the heck are they going to agree on 4T by August 1?
And failure to up the debt ceiling by Aug 1 will lead to a default and allow/force the Treasury department to decide who gets paid and who doesn't.
Do you really want Geithner and Obama deciding who gets paid?
