Tonight, a family is in a dispute with Royal Oak Beaumont Hospital to keep 16-year-old Titus Jermain Cromer Jr. on life support.

The teen's family says he is in a coma. Royal Oak Beaumont Hospital has informed the family that Cromer has lost all brain function.

James Rasor is an attorney representing the family. "This is just a shocking and catastrophic case. It's every parent's worst nightmare," said Rasor.

I thought this sort of thing only happened under "socialised medicine" ?

I had private healthcare after I left the army in 1986 until the VA let us come back in 2004 and I much prefer the VA they don't need to call the insurer to see if a test will be paid for before they can do the test on the patient and they do great preventive care and they check the oil and water under the hood....

He is insured. The hospital just wants to free of its bed. We have long term care vegetable bins. They will likely be able to find a bed in one of them.

While I feel sorry for the parents I can see how emotion is running over reality.
If a person no longer has a mind there is no coming back no miraculously recovering.
