"Don't ask, don't tell" no longer enforced, Dan Choi reenlists - Don't Ask Don't Tell - Salon.com

Yesterday, U.S. District Judge Virginia Phillips refused to stay her decision to end "don't ask, don't tell," the longtime ban on openly gay men and women serving in the armed forces. By the end of the day, military recruiters were accepting gay and lesbian candidates. And Lt. Dan Choi, the Iraq veteran, West Point grad, and gay rights activist, went down to Times Square to reenlist. His request is being processed. (Choi first attempted to enlist in the Marines, he said on Twitter, but he was told he is too old.)

Good for him! I heard him interviewed today, there is no good reason he shouldn't be allowed to serve in the military! The US military is lucky to have him.

Except once again, that thing about Gays enlisting has been put on hold, as it should have been. Lets hope DADT stays in effect until the military is ready to change it and not some dumb ass liberal judge.

As long as he didn't check "Gay" under sexual alignment on the application, he should be safe.

Given that he is an activist for Gay rights and already declared he was Gay on the Maddow show doesn’t that in itself preclude his service and the fact he did disclose he was gay publically?
