Well, if you sandbox your machine virtually it will likely be fine, but if you allow kernel security updates then you're likely going to be recompiling a lot more than if you ran with Nvidia.

But you may be lucky.

I'd go with the green :)

Kinda what I figured which is why I use Nvidia.
I noted the mobo you posted has built in Radeon and Navy said he was using Ubuntu which is why I asked.

Easy fix. The board is an ATX and has two third party slots for a Nvidia video card. AMD and ATi are a fixed match as far as onboard video goes since AMD owns ATi.

Zotac GeForce GTS 250 675MHZ 1GB 2.2GHZ GDDR3 PCI-E DVI VGA HDMI Video Card ~40.00

I'd be sure to get a card that has an active fan. Those passive solutions often die after a year or two.

I have really tried my best here too, to find things made in the USA, but frankly it's sad to see that all of this technology is made oversea's. The other sad fact is, there are people like me who would be willing to pay a little more for technology made here in the USA as long as it was made with some quality and it meant keeping some jobs here. On a side note, I was on AMD's website looking and have decided to go with them as far as processors go. I read most if not all the specs on the AMD X2 and am very impressed. As far as a video card goes, for my need's most likely I am going with something in the middle because I just can't see myself EVER using my computer for games.

Much of the board (at the R&D level) technology is made in the USA. :)

I doubt if the manufacturing will come back. It's just not cost efficient.
