No I have actually talked to Africans about this and it really pisses them off. They see it as another vestige of colonialism and consider the term racist.

I scored in the top percentile of the ACT test I took, but ACT/SAT scores don't mean anything.

I don't believe the debate has been settled:

The debate reemerged again in 1969, when Arthur Jensen championed the view that for genetic reasons Africans were less intelligent than whites and that compensatory education for African-American children was therefore doomed to be ineffective. In 1994, the book The Bell Curve argued that social inequality in the United States could largely be explained as a result of IQ differences between races and individuals rather than being their cause, and rekindled the public and scholarly debate with renewed force. During the debates following the book's publication, the American Anthropological Association and the American Psychological Association (APA) published official statements regarding the issue, both highly skeptical of some of the book's claims, although the APA report called for more empirical research on the issue.​

Ann Arbor Public Schools saw its students' average SAT scores improve this year and continue to exceed the statewide average, but some members of the board of education still were alarmed by the results.

At a meeting on Oct. 25, the school board reviewed the results from the SAT taken by all high school juniors in April. Overall, the average SAT score for AAPS students improved from 1160.3 in 2016 to 1192.9 in 2017.

The highest possible SAT score is 1600, and the statewide average this year was 1007.6.

However, AAPS' SAT results showed the average scores for Black students, Hispanic students and special education students Dropped from 2016 to 2017. The average SAT scores for economically disadvantaged AAPS students, students who are learning English as a second language and special education students also lag behind the district-wide average.

"I'm in a Panic. I'll be very honest with you," said Susan Baskett (black), vice president of the school board. "I've been on this board for how many years.
We keep changing tests, but No matter which tests they are and Who creates them, there's Always that certain group that's there."

"I've been in education for 40 years, and this issue, this discrepancy between student groups and achievement, has been there for 40 years and obviously longer," said Jeff Gaynor, board secretary. "We're clearly all concerned. There's clearly no easy answers, no simple mechanical answers. We know that achievement scores can be correlated with family education and wealth. But I do think we need to look at every possible factor. We need to return to, as we said, 'courageous conversations' about Race, about class."

Henry Ford had an IQ of 100 but was far more successful than those "geniuses " who spent all that time patting themselves on the back and boasting of having high IQs.

While 'm a skeptic as to the use of IQ scores to predict any damn thing, I've taken the tests several times and each time I had a different score. The first was 120; A decade later it was 130; and, 5 years ago, it was 138. Others taking multiple tests have seen their score drop with each test, So, regardless of all the hubris over IQ, how you feel or your state of mind while taking the test can affect your score by a wide margin... People living in modern healthy environments who know in advance they are going to be tested are more likely to do far better than people who are ambushed with an IQ test while struggling to survive a famine, drought or war.
Consider these points before you write off the intelligence of millions of people whose collective average tests scores really are meaningless until we know the circumstances under which they were tested. And even then... those test scores can improve as living standards and health improves.

I've pointed to African immigrants and the academic success they have obtained in both the UK and the USA. I think the paradigm I outlined above has a direct bearing on that success. And contrary to your outlandish claim that I was projecting the success of African Immigrants as the norm for all Blacks, I was, in fact, hoping you'd see the potential those examples represent for all Africans. And, considering the pliable nature of IQ, that potential can become reality in a relatively short time. You seem obsessed with convincing yourself and others that IQ is immutable and that those scoring low are condemned to social hell because of it. I think my example in spoiler 1 refutes that notion.

• Today’s IQ scores are calculated accordantly with a different scale rather than the scales from the early of 20th century. Although these methods all provide similar results for average IQ scores, the former method gives considerably better results for those with high IQ score.

• The standard deviations may additionally vary for different IQ tests – in turn this makes those tests’ scores, on the same level, incomparable.

• There is an interesting trend for a part of population – younger ones tend to obtain higher scores on their IQ tests – therefore, intelligence levels decrease as time goes by. Thus this tendency may not reflect people’s actual possessed intelligence.

• There are misconceptions perceived by many people that the IQ test can really measure real an individual’s intelligence and no matter what he or she tries to do, he or she cannot improve his or her score. However, there additionally is a proof that, the IQ score can really be improved by purposely and carefully preparing for the test.

There are plenty of facts, there is also a difference between causation and correlation. You can't assume that the lower scores of Blacks are due to their being Black. There are more likely cultural factors that are more important.

I read your post with alarm because it may be turn out to be true. I just wanted to show that not everyone in the scientific community is on board.

I always imagine things like intelligence like bell curves and the curves for different races may in fact be different. In the real world I think there is 99.99% overlap so these things really matter at the extremes. The fastest sprinters may be Black but there are plenty of fast white sprinters, they just don't make the Olympic cut off. In the Olympics such things matter, in real life, not so much.

Now the question is why the gap? White privilege or as you are implying blacks are inferior? Quality of schools? It seems that the scores come from the same schools that both attend so that can't be it. Are the schools teaching subjects based on white culture that the black culture can't seem to grasp?
