CT Schools Cancel Halloween Because it Offends Muslims

How do you know it was canceled due to offending Muslims? They were just one of many groups. They didn't just spring up in 2015.

I remember Christians trying to get it cancelled decades ago and many have protested since then. It wasn't until Muslims complained that anything was changed.

Islam is being taught in some schools and is covered to a far greater extent than any other religion. Seriously, if Muslims were asked to recite the bible on homework or wear a cross for a day to show tolerance for the slaughtered Christians in Muslim countries, how would that go over?

We have students reciting Muslim prayers, quoting the verse that is used for conversion and learning the tenets. It's all presented in a positive light, unlike Christianity since they dwell on the centuries-old crusades. How much is taught regarding Islamic terrorists? While terrorism is discussed, they are dropping the part about the religion of most terrorists.

There is no question that political correctness is at work here. Schools are banning American flags on vehicles, t-shirts and even sent some students home for wearing jackets with the U.S. Air Force logo. Some home associations have banned people from flying American flags on their homes. The reason is always that it's offensive. Just don't say anything about being offended by looking at young men's underwear when they wear saggy pants or you're called intolerant. Seems that Americans in general are supposed to be tolerant of everyone who hates us, but we can't expect tolerance in return. Bacon ads have come down, bacon is no longer served in prisons, Muslims who take jobs are given waivers for doing parts of their jobs that offend them and Islam is pushed as the peaceful religion in schools with no regard to how it might offend other religions.

Schools have cancelled days that were meant to pay tribute to America. Again, they say it's offensive to those students who don't consider themselves American. Yet, they are in American schools and taking advantage of all the country has to offer, but still get offended by our symbol.

Muslims have even chosen to attend Catholic schools just so they can bitch about the crosses and other holy symbols. They want prayer rooms provided no matter what school they choose. What mosque has added special rooms for Christians or Jews?

In most cases, we bow to the illegal aliens, Muslims or other radical groups that make the most noise.

Face it, you aren't allowed to be offended unless you're an illegal alien, Muslim or minority. Anyone else who takes issue with the smallest thing regarding those groups is called names and told to behave. If you are a Muslim baker, you will not be charged for discrimination if you refuse to bake for a gay couple. If you listen to the left, you won't find criticism of Muslims anywhere no matter how they behave. I don't hear criticism of their horrific treatment of women, which means the left isn't as concerned about women's rights as they claim.

The liberal media looks the other way when it comes to illegal aliens committing horrible crimes. As with the Muslims, they immediately praise the groups and order us to ignore the few. Only time that isn't the rule is when it's southerners, Republicans or Christians. Christians are still expected to answer for the crusades that happened centuries ago, but no Muslim is even asked their opinion on 9/11.

Just tired of the massive effort on the left to shove things down our throats as they fail to treat everyone equal.

Terrorism is only a tiny fraction of US history and aside from it's direct impact in two major attacks: OKC and 911 - I doubt a lot of school time is devoted on it, nor should it be given all the history that gets covered. As far as religion...is religion important? If so, you might not realize that the majority of terrorist attacks on US soil have been by good old American Christians.

For example, those homeowner associations that ban people from flying American flags ban the flying of ALL flags (and likely also tell you what color your door must be painted). That kind of stuff is not PC, if you don't like it, don't live there (I wouldn't). Some stuff is PC, some stuff isn't.

Muslims have frequently been asked their opinion on 9/11 and have been expected to apologize for every terrorist act committed by a Muslim around the world, conduct mass demonstrations against it, and denounce Islam. Haven't heard that expectation made for Christians.

A lot of them are. The schools where I live don't allow kids to dress up as witches or anything the Christians perceive as demonic.

A lot of churches also have Halloween parties so their congregation can bring their kids there instead of going trick or treating.

The schools also don't allow kids to wear masks that conceal their faces.

Jehovah Witnesses and Christians have opposed Halloween for years. Churches have often chose to celebrate a different event on that day to discourage kids from dressing as witches and ghouls. Jehovah Witnesses go door to door objecting to many things.

Never has any school given in to the Christians JWs, but for some stupid reason, some are worried about offending Muslims. What the hell makes such an intolerant group so special?

Hey, Muslims, celebrating holidays, like Halloween and Christmas, have been traditions here. You don't like it? Suck it up or leave. I promise not to go to any Muslim countries and bitch about their customs if they can respect ours and quit acting like they are being hurt by seeing Christmas trees or kids dressed in costumes on Halloween. Just don't participate.

Most schools celebrate Cinco de Mayo for some odd reason. And kids are banned from wearing American patriotic t-shirts on that day. It's always Americans who bend over so they don't offend people. Screw it.

If kids don't like Halloween, then don't join the other kids having fun.
