Create a poem...

As I was walking down the street
I saw a man who tears did weep
I asked him, Sir, why do you cry
For the sins of man he did reply

New line:

Flowering Lilies in my garden grow
Radiant beauty row on row
From bulbs to flowers they do flow
In the soft breeze their petals blow

Okay, we got off to a bit of a rocky start. Here's the new line.

Stars shine brightly in the night...

Stars shine brightly in the night
as someone says...that boy ain't right

There once was a gal from Nantucket
Who sprang a leak in her bucket
Over the leak she put her finger
And said to herself we must not linger

There once was a gal from Nantucket
Who dropped her knickers and said
I'll trade these knickers for lingerie
As long as you come up with the bread

Stars shine brightly in the night
as someone says...that boy ain't right
He gets in trouble...likes to fight
Likes to show off all his might

(Yuckky!)

Under the beautiful moonlit sky
a lovely piece of pie I spy
they say it's cheese
I say oh please
It's a pie in the sky and it's high

Just a reminder...the person who completes the poem must provide the first line of the next poem or verse. Moving right along...:)

On a foggy night in the month of July

Upon a dank and foggy July night
we set our Chinese fireworks alight

to celebrate the nation's liberty,
for which our founders fought with all their might;

but here amid the fog and poverty,
the fireworks and freedom seem to be

obscured against the backdrop of the night
lit-up instead by global tyranny.

The ark of broken covenants...

The Ark of the covenant, a sacred chest
40 years in the wilderness Scripture attests
A trophy it stood in God's guidance it rest
Broken to pieces by man's sinful unrest

The swaying branches and ruffling leaves
Of pillars of green in the forest of trees
The restless wind blows a simmering breeze
Casting shadows of glory my eyes to please

The swaying branches and ruffling leaves
contain the pollens that displease
eyes that flame and sinuses that squeeze
until there is the inevitable sneeze

(Yes, I know, I suck at poetry! I won't inflict any more on you. :D)

Good poem, Derideo. :)

Stars shine brightly in the night
Twinkling in the sky so bright
In my dreams my spirit takes flight
In waking morning it does alight

I wake the morning with a yawn
'Tis rarely a day I rise after dawn
Today's a new day, yesterday's gone
I praise the Lord a glorious day spawn
