Cramer on Trump’s Tariffs: “China is So Ready for the US it’s Embarrassing

So if tariffs don’t work, then why is China doing it?

Because they're communist fuck heads and we shouldn't be like them.

The EU uses them too. In fact African, Asian, Islamic, and Latin American countries use them too.

The US always used tarifffs since the revolutionary war until after WWII. The only reason we dropped them after WWII was because the economy of every other country was destroyed at that time.

Since then all those economies have rebuilt and recovered, yet we’re still stuck in policies from the era of the US being the only major economic power.

Whatabout, whatabout, whatabout... Erm. To reiterate, Because they're communist fuck heads and we shouldn't be like them.

So if tariffs don’t work, then why is China doing it?

China loses in any trade war, they are far more dependent on our willingness to buy their crap.

All we need to do is make deals with other countries waiting for our business....we lose nothing but liberals can't understand that
Trump burned all those bridges.
Africa? He called them shithole countries and China is involved heavily there.
Asia? Belongs more and more to China.
Our neighbours ? Mexico is pissed off so is canada
By the time he ends his second year we will be isolated.

Hmm, tariffs are something only capitalist economies ever impose. True communist economies can't get foriiegners to buy their worthless crap.

Be prepared to pay more for stuff then, let that tax cut help you cover the cost....maybe you won't go back anything unless if you are from the 5%.

I'm really worried about paying more for stuff from Rwanda.

This is what happens when you elect a president who doesn’t know a damn thing but thinks he does. All of this president’s advisers pleaded with him not to enact the tariffs. Dumbfuck listens to no one.

China's response to President Donald Trump's tariffs was so swift that it was actually quite embarrassing for the United States, according to CNBC's Jim Cramer.

Earlier Friday, China announced plans for reciprocal tariffs on 128 U.S. products, including pork, wine, fruit and steel. It came a day after Trump's announcement of tariffs on up to $60 billion in Chinese imports.

Chinese President Xi Jinping "had a list that was so ready of what they're blocking," Cramer said on "Squawk on the Street" Friday. "They are so ready for what we do, it's embarrassing."

"Do you think that [China] has not figured this stuff out," asked Cramer. "They've got a game plan."

and the good news is china is targeting red states and undecided ones Maybe drumph will change his mind once he hears the squeals of those who voted for him

Has that asshole Cramer ever been right about anything?

Remember when he was telling his audience to buy buy buy, just before the crash of ‘08.

Yeah, uh-huh, then perhaps you'd like to explain the fact that China has become a world economic power and has had a thriving economy for years behind the protection of high tariffs.

Maybe Jim Cramer should be running for office instead of shilling for CNBC. Who cares what Cramer thinks?
He doesn’t “ shill “ for CNBC. He works for them and his opinion is very similar to the best financial minds this country has, of course Trump not being one of them.

But you should feel proud you did your duty for your cult leader for the day..

Oh, so it's "Argument from authority" fallacy, huh? ipse dixit?

FAIL, boy!

U.S. finds China aluminum foil subsidized, imposes duties

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The U.S. Commerce Department said on Tuesday it made a preliminary finding that imports of aluminum foil from China are subsidized, and it imposed countervailing duties ranging from 16.56 percent to 80.97 percent.

U.S. aluminum foil producers had filed petitions with the U.S. government accusing Chinese producers of receiving subsidies and of “dumping” the product in the United States market, the first such case since President Donald Trump took office.

In 2016, imports of aluminum foil from China were valued at an estimated $389 million, Commerce Department figures show.

U.S. Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross said in a statement announcing the decision that the Trump administration “will not stand idly by as harmful trade practices from foreign nations attempt to take advantage of our essential industries, workers and businesses.”

There is NO FREE TRADE..............the duties are being paid against each other already............and they are fought in the WTO courts..................

China has been subsidizing products to gain a favorable gain against the United States, EU, Japan and others.......and have been putting anti dumping measures against our industries already................

Before the SO CALLED FREE TRADE AGREEMENTS.............these situations were dealt with on a ONE to ONE trade deal with China...................give and take process............Now it is done via a World Court who orders other countries to comply or else.......................

One such case was Country of Origin labeling...............Our law required Country of Origin labels...........yet was never really enforced...........Yet Mexico and Canada filed against us in the WTO............we lost there and Mexico and Canada received a bounty in Tariffs against us by another name.............this is the reason that this law is now being abolished...............

The point...............it is not about whether or not you agree with a law..........it is about whether a FOREIGN COURT CAN ORDER US TO CHANGE OUR LAWS...................Which was done in this case..........

China has been screwing us for decades now......trying to drive our businesses under.........placing anti dumping measures on our products................and manipulating currency to gain a trade advantage over our Nation...........

There is NO SUCH THING AS FREE TRADE.................duties and tariffs and taxes are paid every dang day.

U.S. launches second WTO complaint in China chicken trade dispute

The U.S. Trade Representative’s office said it is making claims that China’s anti-dumping and countervailing duties violate WTO rules, partly because China failed to properly calculate U.S. poultry production costs.

China also failed to conduct transparent investigations and breached WTO rules in its finding that U.S. poultry exports have injured Chinese producers, USTR said. The complaint seeks consultations with Beijing on the matter.

The complaint is the second U.S. WTO objection to China’s 2010 imposition of anti-dumping duties of up to 105.4 percent, and anti-subsidy duties of up to 30.3 percent, on U.S. broiler chicken products.

It is Time to Stand Up to China

Do you remember when China was accepted into the World Trade Organization in 2001? Presidents Clinton and Bush, as well as many other public policy leaders, predicted that it would improve the U.S.-China trade balance and would encourage China to abandon communism for free-market capitalism, both of which would benefit America.

I don’t know how they got it so wrong. After 15 years, we can say from experience that none of those predictions have come true.

The U.S. deficit with China has ballooned from $83 billion in 2000 to $366 billion in 2015. This is a total of $3.6 trillion in deficits with China. During this same period, the U.S. lost 5 million manufacturing jobs.

Further, a recent lawsuit by United States Steel Corp. (IW500/91) charges China with price fixing, stealing the company’s trade secrets, and shipping steel to the U.S. through other countries so buyers won’t know the country of origin.

China is not a market economy, much less a free-market economy."
China is not a market economy, much less a free-market economy. Still, the U.S. continues to treat China as a free-market economy, with the hope that it will somehow encourage them to begin playing by the same rules governing the rest of the world. But, alas, it's not happening. Here is a short list of some of China's strategies.

Steel Overproduction in China — Crucial International Talks Fail

The problem of steel ‘dumping’ continues to grow, despite new rulings recently imposed. International talks aimed at finding measures to tackle the industry’s biggest ever crisis ended in failure and now a joint statement has been issued by several countries calling for immediate, urgent action to be taken that will curb China’s massive levels of overproduction

China’s Position
The country has dismissed claims of steel sold at a loss and says that it is trying to curb overproduction. Official statements from the official news agency in Beijing say that China feels it is being unfairly blamed for the problems in the global industry. China itself has problems due to overproduction – any major cuts in output will lead to many redundancies and potential social instability and so the country is unlikely to take this action. Unless the domestic demand for steel in China increases dramatically, exports will continue to remain at a low price around the world. 822m tonnes are year are currently produced by China, far in excess of what can be domestically absorbed.

Much like Japan and South Korea. Yet American economists seem to always sing the praises of Free Trade.

To the OP....................China has been kicking our collective asses for over a decade and a half now..............

Since they were allowed into the WTO they have continually gained the advantage over us and most of the world................

They have subsidized products and sold it around the world..............

They have overproduced products trying to put the rest of the world out of business.........killing 5 million American manufacturing jobs.............

They have put Anti Dumping measures against our products killing our sales in their country..........

They have manipulated their currency to make our currency to appear stronger to gain MARKET ADVANTAGE on trade..

They have refused to increase their EPA standards as they have promised to do............

They have sold us hazardous products such as dry wall products that ended in a disaster on FEMA Trailers after Hurricane Katrina.........Remember that.............

Do we wait until the the rest of our Manufacturing jobs are gone..............or do we fight back.....................

Finally do we Stand with our people or with the Politics of attacking TRUMP who is attempting to FIGHT BACK..........Perhaps the tariffs are not the only way to do so.................it has been tried before by Bush and the Trade War that happened then.............forced Bush to pull back the tariffs on steel...............But because we didn't finish the fight then.....................we've lost 5 million Manufacturing jobs as a result..........................while the WTO court hoses us over time and time again allowing UNFAIR TRADE PRACTICES IN CHINA....................

Why do need the dang WTO ANYWAY...............We are a Sovereign NATION.................who doesn't need to be told how to handle our own affairs anyway..............................the old way was a one on one Trade deal with China and was a give and take process.......................wihich freaking worked until someone said it was broken.................

China’s 13-year ban on U.S. beef may come to an end after Mar-a-Lago summit between Trump and Xi Jinping

Chinese officials who spoke to the Financial Times said that President Xi Jinping is offering to lift China’s 13-year-long ban on U.S. beef and buy more American grain and agricultural products. That comes alongside an offer to increase the stake that American financial firms can hold in Chinese insurance and financial asset companies.

This opening up of China’s market follows President Trump’s two-day summit with President Xi at his Mar-a-Lago club in Florida last week. And although many aspects of these offers were in the works before Trump took office, trade experts say they represent a win for his administration

i agree with free trade 100%, but China abuses it. They steal our intellectual property wholesale. They steal movies and show them to Chinese audiences without paying for them. They steal our patents. They publish copyrighted books without paying royalties. They ship aluminum to Mexico so they can send it accros the border without paying duty on it.

South Korea does the same thing. I had a friend in college who went to South Korea and bought all his text books for almost nothing.
