Controlling the flow of information

For any liberty loving nation to flourish there must be freedom of speech and the flow of information presented to the people must be truthful.

However as most of us know what is presented to us by the msm is far from the truth.

The first thing despots do when they take over a country is to use sources of information for propaganda purposes. What do we do when virtually all sources of information voluntarily become propaganda tools of a political party? Maybe it's always been that way. FDR actually put the media under federal control during WW2. The media became shills of the Kennedy empire creating a myth of "Camelot" while JFK was abusing his power in crazy ways like using the CIA to create an illegal invasion army. Liberal icon Walter Cronkite assumed the role of the "most trusted" man and Washington Post reporters used an anonymous "informant" who was never revealed during his lifetime to frighten republicans into surrendering a presidency.
