WASHINGTON -- Americans' confidence in the economy surged last month to the highest level in nearly five years, as many were encouraged by an improving job market.

The Conference Board said Thursday that its consumer confidence index increased in October to 72.2. That's up from 70.3 in September and the highest reading since February 2008, two months into the Great Recession. Investors cheered the news.

You are getting desperate because you have backed a loser of a president, just saying !:eusa_clap::eusa_clap::eusa_clap:

Consumer confidence hasn't surged. Consumer spending has surged. It's because of inflation not confidence.

What? not like i'm trying to scare voters by falsely telling them their jobs are moving to China.

Consumer confidence hasn't surged. Consumer spending has surged. It's because of inflation not confidence.

It's done by survey and inflation has been under 2 %.

too bad consumers don't know economy is being churned by liberal schemes to look good. Imagine if Obozo wasn't spending $4 trillion a year and the Fed wasn't printing $40 billion a month!! First we lived an illusion in the real estate bubble and now in the Obozo/Fed bubble. Where will it end???

Yup.

A lot of economic indicators seem to suggest that the overall economy is recovering somewhat.

Sadly mostly those indicators report how wall street and the filthy rich are doing rather than how the working people in this nation are doing.

STill, those indicators are LEADING indicators and hopefully nothing untoward happens to turn them around.

The economy isn't recovering. obama is just telling you that the economy is recovering. Anyone that goes to the grocery store or gas station knows that the economy isn't recovering.

Perhaps people are more confident because the President's days in office are numbered... in single figures.

:lmao:

yes, the greatest stimulus of all would be Obozo's defeat!!! People know in their hearts that an anti-business socialist who had two communist parents and voted to the left of Bernie Sanders is not good for the economy!
