Here's the thing, folks.
Congressional approval ratings are currently around 15 percent. I've seen it drop to as low as 9 percent.
And yet...
A representative who runs for re-election has a 98 percent chance of winning his seat over and over for as long as he wishes.
That's not a made up number. The House literally has a 98 percent re-election rate for at least the past 50 or 60 years.
The Senate has an 80 percent re-election rate.
"Those other congress critters spend too much money on PORK, but my guy brings home the BACON!"
What's more, congressional districts are gerrymandered to the max. Damn near all of the seats are bulletproof.
So as long as you are perfectly okay with YOUR district being rigged for YOUR team, you have no right to complain.
If you want to find the person responsible for all of our country's problems, don't look at Congress.
Look in the fucking mirror.
