Michelle Obama and Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack (the food stamp guy) are at it again, and Coca-Cola is in the cross-hairs!

This time the “Smart Snack Squad” are “straining out gnats and swallowing camels” by announcing and instituting “school wellness standards” that focus only on food.

In conjunction with the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) “Smart Snacks in Schools,” regulations mandated by the first lady’s Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act of 2010 are in the process of being instituted.

What does that mean?

It means that the same people who feel it’s necessary to make sure school kids get free condoms are about to dictate how food can and cannot be marketed on school premises.

Snacks deemed “unhealthy” by Mrs. Obama and the feds are henceforth banned in perpetuity from public school grounds. So the condom machines can stay, but the First Amendment and the soda machines must go.

Maduro would be proud.

Schools are by design meant to educate. Teaching kids to eat healthy = good. Good for kids. Good for society in general to have healthy kids. Junk food and unhealthy food = bad. Bad for kids. Bad for society in general to have unhealthy kids.
Why teach kids bad habits when they go to school. Only one reason. Support business that produces unhealthy products and get kids addicted to those bad habits.
Only reason it's an issue is because the corporate masters can get segments of society to be ridiculously stupid.

Incredibly stupid OP. Obesity because of the type of food in our diets is now a major problem among teens. As is teenage pregnancy and transmission of STDs. So the prevention of all three would seem like a wise idea. As far as the condoms promoting sexual adventures, even though it has been a half century since I was a teen, as I remember it, sexual adventures were something that needed no promotion at all. In other words, those that are going to, will, with or without the condoms. With the condoms, at least there is a degee of safety until they get older and return to sanity.

Perhaps that is what you want to believe to be true...

But if you offer a condom to a child who is not sexually promiscuous, you are opening the door to sexual activity.

I drink Coca Cola and I am 5'10" and 180 pounds because I am very active....so it seems that it is not Coca Cola that promotes obesity......it is a society of little activity.
