CNN to White House: "How many dead veterans do you need?"

Then-Senator Barack Obama, November 12, 2007: “After seven years of an Administration that has stretched our military to the breaking point, ignored deplorable conditions at some VA hospitals, and neglected the planning and preparation necessary to care for our returning heroes, America’s veterans deserve a President who will fight for them not just when it’s easy or convenient, but every hour of every day for the next four years.”

Obama was right...unfortunately they are still waiting for the president they deserve.

Aren't Americans tired of this know nothing till press tells Obama what he should know?

He should have known the VA in Phoenix was cooking the books? He has people for that and it doesn't sound like they knew either. Welcome to the real world.

Sorry, but that doesn't fly. He's responsible for his subordinates' actions and failures. If his subordinates aren't doing their jobs, it's on Obama for not keeping them to task (nevermind that he complained about the VA and veteran healthcare while a senator and on the campaign trail). Military commanders get relieved all the time over actions they personally aren't aware of, but subordinates allow to happen because of neglect.

The buck stops on Obama's desk.

Obama held assignments on the Senate Committees for Foreign Relations, Environment and Public Works and Veterans' Affairs through December 2006.[91] In January 2007, he left the Environment and Public Works committee and took additional assignments with Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions and Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs

"We knew nothing, it's not a big deal, we're handling it, nothing to see here, move along"

Sorry. I've looked all over the interwebs. Can't find a link for that quote.

Maybe it's in one of the fifteen other threads on this subject?
