Closer to the machines taking over, and terminators.

Robotics has been growing for decades. With all the talk about jobs going overseas, the truth is that automation has killed more jobs than have been sent overseas. Computers, robotics and automation is becoming a greater part of our lives whether you see it or like it. Driverless vehicles will dominate the roads in the next few decades.

But to equate that with a scifi movie about killer robots is ridiculous. Fantasy and reality are not the same things.

Holy shit

Yeah, if you are worried about technology,
I'd be more concerned about people abusing apps and internet
to lure and kidnap kids. It only has to happen to 1 kid, 1 family, 1 set of parents
to end someone's world. 1 incident gone wrong is too much to risk.

Dad Saves Daughter From Snapchat Sex Traffickers

So I'm more worried how are we going to screen criminally ill predators
so they don't abuse technology to target or traffic victims.
How do we track this before it's too late and the damage is done.

Worry? No. But definitely worthy of consideration.

You are simply too shallow a thinker to comprehend.
Advances in AI are exponential.
When AI becomes self-aware (that point is approaching rapidly), we really have no idea what will happen. It's all theory.
Same as with the super colliders. Many theories....but there are no absolute guarantees.
If they knew it all, they wouldn't need the super colliders now would they?

Keep in mind that at one time, human flight was also a fantasy as was space travel.
Only a few decades ago an 8088 processor was considered extreme high tech.

I take it you disagree? Why?

A shallow thinker? LMAO! Because I scoff at the idea that killer robots will travel back in time to destroy us? Okey dokey.

When (or If) AIs become self aware, they will still respond to basic programming. Built in safeguards are easy enough.

The research being done in the fields of artificial intelligence, robotics, super colliders and other technology is going to happen. Do we know for sure what will happen? No. But then, there are few things we know for sure about the future. It has always been this way. When the first atomic bomb was set off, there was a possibility that the reaction would not stop and would consume the entire planet. But it didn't. Almost every facet of your life is touched by technology that is less than 100 years old (most considerably less). The advantages are huge. To fear it is to spend your life scared or to try to hide from technology.

Not so much as "self aware" as much as someone designing a program to destory humanity.

Using a virus that would control AI and act according to commands.

Wait unti there are drones that are as small as a grain of sand or something.

All very concerning to me. What we should know and beyond that stuff is the complete lack of need for humans at all.

Once robots can do any and every job.....billions of humans will have essentially no purpose.

That is when the upper elite globalists will make plans to rid the world of us. Armageddon? Yeah.

Ever since the advancement of technology has allowed the elite few to control the masses, what you fear has become possible. AI and drones the size of a grain of sand are not the worry. The technology that entertains us is more dangerous. It becomes the equivalent of the Roman Circus. As long as we have our smart phones and 500 channels of cable tv, we don't care about our rights.

There's more tech in your phone or smart watch than on old spacecraft.

The back-flipping robot is a hoax. There's a dood inside. You idiots will believe anything.

If we want to stop the robots maybe we should kill the off white men since they give us all these tech advances as they've been doing for thousands of years. Women and blacks can't do tech.

If nothing else we are quickly approaching the moment when robots may be made in sufficient quantity and sophistication to become an army. What are the ethics of sending an army of robots to kill an army of humans. Certainly this would make it more likely a nation with such an army would go to war knowing few of their people would have to die. And of course cyber warfare to turn these robots against their own side would be accelerated into a new arms race.

And what of the robots that kill on the battlefield without having a reason.

Three laws safe.

More of your drivel? Do a little research. Women, while a minority, have been instrumental in many NASA projects. And as far as advances in tech, the asians have done more than the whites. But your racist drivel is noted.

BTW, what have you done to advance tech again?

No they won't you fool. The hacking problem alone will see to that. THINK, brainless nitwit.

It is a simple thing to make the safety features untouchable by wireless communication. .

HAHAHA. Safety features?? You mean like brakes and the acceleration circuit? How you gonna have self-driving cars if those aren't on the internet.

Trust me, fool. Anything can be hacked.

Safety features like the car not driving into anything solid. If the piloting system refuses to obey, the car shuts down. And only thing accessible to wireless communication can be hacked.
