Still think the Iraq War was a wonderful success? Still think funding & arming 'Rebels' in Syria is a wonderful idea? Maybe it's time to think again?

When U.S. troops invaded Iraq in 2003, there were at least 1.5 million Christians in Iraq. Over the last ten years, significantly in the last few months with the emergence of ISIS, that figure has dropped to about 400,000.

In a region where Christians predate Muslims by centuries, over one million Christians have been killed or have had to flee because of jihadi persecution, while America is basically standing by and watching. This is the sad news that National Security Editor and one of the world’s leading experts on asymmetric warfare, Dr. Sebastian Gorka, brought to Breitbart News Saturday, hosted by Editor in Chief Alex Marlow on Sirius XM Patriot Radio.

Dr. Gorka explained that “in the last 48 hours, ISIS, which is now called the Islamic State in Mosul, has painted the letter “N” for Nazarene on the houses of all the surviving Christians in the city. ISIS has basically given an ultimatum to all the Christians left: You can either flee or convert to Islam, or we will kill you.”

Gorka points out that, over the last 20 years, America has stood up around the world to save Muslims. “Whether it was to save the Muslims in Bosnia or the Albanians, Kosovars, and Muslims in Serbia, it is now time for a humanitarian operation to save the remaining Christians in Iraq,” he said. “It is time for the American people and our representatives to do something for our co-religionists remaining in the Middle East.”

Marlow observed that the blatant religious cleansing is horrifying and asked Gorka: “Why is it that the mainstream press is not interested in the story?” Gorka first responded by saying "Let's face it, this is a Christian version of the Holocaust and nothing less.”...

Because liberal media hates Christianity for it's stance on gay marriage and traditional conservative family values. Let a Muslim be discriminated against in the U.S. and watch the furor. We should do all we can to protect our Christian brothers and sisters.

Yeah, it's awful what's going on in Iraq right now. You may have a point. The American Left does seem to have an irrational hatred for Christians. That could explain their inexplicable silence on this.

Yes. It was a strategy by the left in 1960's. Tear down all traditional mores and values. Destroy the backbone of America...the Christian family unit. Then you can create the "new" Marxist society. So the media turns its back on Christians.

yeah , sorry , can't say much more than the fact that I'm aware . Also heard that , think isis is sunni so that shiite houses and there owners are being labeled as rejecters because they aren't sunni . Both shia and Christians would be subject to the tax and being dhimmis I'd guess .

Yeah, Christians are on the run for sure. It's very sad the UN and other so-called 'Human Rights' groups are completely ignoring their plight. I think an earlier poster may have been onto something. These groups are usually run by hardcore Anti-Christian Leftists. What other explanation is there? They've completely ignored the awful situation for Christians in the Middle East and Africa. It's very sad and perplexing.

Still so perplexing as to why no one has rushed to aid Christians being exterminated in Africa and the Middle East. The International Community has basically ignored this Christian Genocide going on. But why? I'm open to hearing what others think.

Here's some more very unfortunate news for Christians...

Militant takeover of Iraq’s largest Christian city, mountaintop siege fuel calls for aid

Iraqi militants seized control Thursday of the country's largest Christian city -- reportedly telling its residents to leave, convert or die -- while members of another religious minority remained trapped on a mountain without enough food or water, circumstances that fueled calls for the U.S. and U.N. to get more involved.

It's the latest in a basket of foreign policy crises testing the Obama administration. Secretary of State John Kerry dropped into Afghanistan unannounced Thursday to meet with feuding presidential candidates, on the heels of a U.S. general's murder at an army training post -- while the White House plots its next move in a tense chess match over Ukraine with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Meanwhile, one U.S. lawmaker is warning that the latest developments in Iraq could become a "genocide," as the Islamic State (IS) -- the militant group formerly known as ISIS -- continues its march through the north, imposing its brand of Islam on Christians and other minorities.

"Genocide is taking place before our eyes -- and on your watch -- in Iraq," Rep. Frank Wolf, R-Va., wrote in a letter earlier this week to Obama...

Iraq was toast the minute the last of our troops left that country.

I tend to believe it was toast the minute our troops entered that country. Christians were safe and prosperous in Iraq before the War.
