Today in 1934 the world was gifted with one hell of an astronomer/astrophysicist. His show COSMOS was the lead into many of what we see today on Discovery and others.

I loved that show and can never get enough of shows that seek to explain the universe. Too bad that the so-called science channels are now more obsessed with reality type shows of their own. The Learning channel is now pathetic. Seems like it's all Gator hunting and Moonshine brewers.
