Can they actually do this? If they can knock this guy off the ballot, can Trump be knocked off the ballot? This is dangerous territory.

Can the Republican party knock a candidate off a Republican primary ballot?

Why not?

A political party can refuse to endorse a candidate and force him/her to run as an independent. It's nothing new. Republicans did it to MacArthur way back in the 50's. It's a lot different from an opposing party trying to indict a political enemy on frivolous charges to keep him/her from running.

I would think the Republican Party can kick anyone off the ballot as a candidate representing their party. The guy can still run for office, just not under their banner.
