Why is this even controversial.? Of course having 10 million illegal squatters in your state makes the water shortage worse. About time someone said it. This is the elephant in the room that the press won't .let anyone mention.

SACRAMENTO, Calif. (KCRA) —It's a television ad that runs just 30 seconds, but its implication that immigrants are draining resources during the California drought has critics contending its message is divisive and untrue.

"I think those ads are disingenuous," said Sen. Ricardo Lara, a Democrat from Bell Gardens. "They serve to further divide us as Californians."

Many celebrate that one-quarter of all Californians are foreign-born. But for one group, the fact is a reason for concern.

Californians for Population Stabilization (CAPS) is the group launching the ads in Sacramento and Los Angeles. In the ad, a young boy asks the question, "If Californians are having fewer children, why isn't there enough water?"

Later in the ad, an announcer states, "Let's slow immigration and save California for tomorrow."

It could be that there has been a drought for an extended time. Then of course the fact that the population has grown by 10 million is not a help. Look at the real facts. It lands on both sides of the equation.

they increase ALL problems, and the fact that they are PERMITTED to continue to stay here makes it worse, cause it's an encouragement to a billion more to do the same thing.

I am firmly convinced you are right. Their presence permeates substandards and excessive costs in most every aspect of living in California and other places experiencing this onslaught of illegals.

???? What an incoherent statement. Are you drunk again.?

There is no both sides to this issue. Illegals have to go.

LOL, no off the bottle...thanks for asking. I agree with you about illegals. They should stay in their own country and work to make it a better place to live. But ignoring the drought is just plain foolish.

Funny how they caused it just as illegal traffic has gone way down.

There are many causes. Tourists and agriculture just might enter into it.

Immigrants do jobs Republicans will never be qualified for. Anyone what hates education has zero qualifications.

But we want tourism and agriculture. The point here you dumbfuck, is illegals shouldn't be here in the first place, and they contribute to the water shortage by being water users.
If they were sent back home the way they should be, we would have millions of fewer users, and the drought would have a lesser impact.

Ah, "hate truth" again.

I wonder about people who gather information from commercials from a group that is anti-immigration.
The drought is caused by lack of rain and snow.

Incorrect, ignorant. There is no drought, just a lack of ability to retain rain water because you Leftwat enviro-wacks screamed bloody murder every time California tried to build more damns and reservoirs. 70% of the water goes right back into the ocean. This is just but one way that Leftism is ultimately self destructive. If only we could find a way to keep California from bringing down the rest of the country.....

I don't know about the water drought, but California with its need for cheap labor should only blame itself.

This thread is about illegal immigrants. You do know the difference, don't you? Because I'm getting the impression you Leftards don't.

Lefty here, but not just a lefty, but a progressive lefty and contrary to popular beliefs, I agree with the OP. California with its insatiable need for cheap labor has allowed this free pass for decades when it comes to illegals and now that the consequences have beared fruit, they have no one to blame but themselves. All states should be on alert for this, not just Ca. Illegals drive down wages, disrupts communication in a English country, America and because they're undocumented, and there are no consequences for it, they pretty much will be turning this country into another branch of Mexico.
