Cain and Able

do yall even read the bible you profess to believe in?

cain goes east of eden into the land of nod and takes a wife.....

the bible says ...adam and eve were the first people...does it say they are the only people?

The Bible is a series of fables, not to be taken literally. There was never a Cain nor an Able nor an Adam nor an Eve.

The Catholic Church rarely mentions that story for exactly the reason above, "incest". It seems to give the green light.

The truth is stories in the Bible were taken from many other religions, letters and writings and rewritten to give them that peculiar Christian slant.

i agree with rdean. the bible was written by jews to promote jews...the little tidbits that people tend to ignore....jesus said he came only for the jews....matthew 15:24

and then the additional...genesis 12: 1-3...where if you help jews you are bless...if you dont you are cursed...

it is a book of fables...written by men to control society.

lol, too funny...fyi, just a little "tidbit" for you ״ the house of Israel.״ were not Jews, they were Gentiles. you people think you know so much, i always get a chuckle outa you types. oh, and the bible does not "promote Jews," it actually shows them to be a people that constantly turned their backs on YHWH and stormed headlong into all sorts of filth instead for which he kept punishing them. yeah, not a desierable bunch.

You can't read Genesis literally; it's an allegory. And no, an allegory is not a ManMade Global Warming Story as told by Al Gore.

Read it yourself and tell me why my question was so misunderstanding.

First, it doesn't say that Cain and Abel were the only two children, it just focused on them for the moral. Later on they would have had to have had more anyway. Also, since they were both male it makes no difference what the outcome of the story was anyway.
Actually, it does imply that they were the only two children before Seth was born. remember, girls don't count as human in Judaism.

Just the moral of the story? The bible is the bible and everything in it is supposed to have happened. So, people who beleive in the bible take everything from it as true I suppose. If not, why would they talk about religion and the bible in such serious ways and even quote scripture from it when talking to others and preaching. Also, I have no idea why you are even bringing up the idea of atheists in this thread because I beleive in God. I was simply asking a question to get input from others. Atheists beleive there is no God. You may want to re-word your question. I'm still waiting for someone to answer this question about the bible. Thanks.

I did answer. His sister.

I'm so bored with posters that have been here for 10 minutes or in your case 9 posts and think they're going to just jump right in and be taken seriously. You come on like you do and you look like a troll. So oh big surprise when you get treated like a troll.

"Everything in it [the Bible] is supposed to have happened" according to some, not all.

"If not, why would they talk about religion and the bible in such serious ways" because important stuff is usually talked about in serious ways?

"I beleive in God" Do you? Then why not preface your thread with some fucking context? Oh, right. Where would the fun be in that?

"You may want to re-word your question" Nah. You may want to re-word yours tho. Or not. No 1 really cares, either way.

You try and tell me that I am wrong and then tell me that I'm a troll for trying to get the answer to a question. HMM! Seems like your the fucking troll bitch! Can't take the heat then get the fuck out of the kitchen! Again, I was simply trying to ask a question and some on here beleive my question has been answered? What? Where? When? and How the hell has the question been answered? Tell me that. Answer the question and I will respond accordingly. Thanks for your time.

:chillpill:Dude! 3rd time. Cain married his sister. We are all inbred.

It does say that Cain and Abel were the only two children. They may have had more later anyway, but what are their names, where are they mentioned in the bible? Yes. Of course the fact that they were both males brings up a HUGE question. Tell me what happened and how cain was able to reproduce without anyone else. You have still yet to come up with the question asked!!

It's not that you aren't listening to the answers given, it's that you are ignoring them. I'll help you out here again. It is explicit that Cain and Able were not the only children. Seth was another one of Adam's sons. Plus it states that he had other sons and daughters in Genesis 5:4 And the days of Adam after he had begotten Seth were eight hundred years: and he begat sons and daughters.

That's a plural in daughters and sons. Adam was bound to have more children after living all those HUNDREDS of years. I hope this answers your question.

What I'm impressed with is this:

"Altogether, Adam lived 930 years, and then he died." - Genesis 5:5

How was Adam able to continue to inseminate his daughters, granddaughters, great-granddaughters, great-great-granddaughters, etc., without the use of Viagra?

That's debatable and off topic.
