Federal courts have issued desegregation orders for 32 school districts in Mississippi, the U.S. Department of Justice’s Civil Rights Division's assistant attorney general said Thursday.

Enforcing the open desegregation orders fit into a broader body of civil rights work launched in Mississippi that is examining jails, police departments and hate crimes in the state, according to Assistant Attorney General Kristen Clarke of the U.S. Department of Justice’s Civil Rights Division. Referring to the U.S. Supreme Court decision that outlawed segregation of public schools across the country, she said the Justice Department is ensuring school districts provide Black students in Mississippi with equal access to education programs.

“In our ongoing efforts to fulfill the promise of Brown vs. Board of Education, we currently have 32 open cases with school districts here in Mississippi," Clarke said. "And in each of those cases, we are working to ensure that these districts comply with desegregation orders from courts.”

Nearly 70 years after such desegregation was supposed to have stopped because a law was made ending it, we see that the law has not been followed.

Politicians make laws for US, NOT for THEM.

They know how to use and abuse the laws they write as well, because they created these "laws".

They don't expect the sheeples to actually LEARN the laws themselves.

I thought MS was woke. Well no, but I thought that they were past segregation by now, being sovereign, and all of that. I lived in Biloxi when I was five. Right on the beach. Neighbor lady paid me to pick up her pears. It's one of the best places that I've ever lived.

That was '60, so the segregated water fountains were still in town. Those are gone. Black people sit on the buses wherever they choose to sit.

I'm not surprised that they're in trouble for segregating the schools today. I just wish that they wouldn't.

According to this World Atlas article, the LAST segregated school was desegregated in 2016. So what does "under desegregation orders" mean if there are no more segregated schools? :dunno:

It seems that blacks are for segregation these days.
With black only graduations, black only dorms etc....
It's funny though, you wont hear white people crying about it.

As far as it being a law goes....it's against the law to rob liquor stores,to loot and to riot yet here we are with a certain segment of our society totally ignoring those laws.

What the hell are you whining about now? Blacks want their own dorms, their own graduations, their own colleges and high schools.

You are segregating YOURSELVES!

It doesn't seem that way but right wingracist websites have morons believing such.

This is an example of how the garbage you guys post about how laws are made and everybody is equal is just that.

Garbage.

If you live in X district you go to that school. But why would blacks want to go to white schools? Edumadcation is white people stuff.
