"Busing"

Ad hominem (Latin for "to the person"), short for argumentum ad hominem, is a fallacious argumentative strategy whereby genuine discussion of the topic at hand is avoided by instead attacking the character, motive, or other attribute of the person making the argument, or persons associated with the argument, rather than attacking the substance of the argument itself

And yet lost on all this is the fact that the Democrats' top candidate has been in the Senate since 19-freakin-73! Yet he complains how government has failed the middle class. Can they find a more establishment, inside the beltway candidate? Joe, YOU failed the middle class.

Actually, I would say the Middle Class failed itself, when it kept putting Republicans in office (or allowing them to steal offices).

Of those 46 years since 1973, the Democrats have only been in charge of all three levers of power (The presidency, House and Senate) for 8 years total. (77-81, 93-95, 09-11)

When you have one party that is clearly for the rich and affluent against the working class, and the working class is dumb enough to vote for it, of course you are going to have setback.

Look at the time period when the middle class grew from 1932-1968. Democrats controlled all the levers except for brief periods.

I was opposed to forced busing. It was not a solution to the problem. It just made things worse.

They took millions out of education and put it in transportation. Kids wasted hours sitting on a bus. The PTA was closed down and replaced by "school community councils." Parents had to drive to their kids new school. To be a member, it was required to take propaganda classes and pass a test with all the "right" answers.

Better things could have been done.
