Let me see less than a month to go and Bush has NOT attacked Iran and has not seized the government. Just what is he waiting for?

The liberals on this board have been insisting for years now that he was going to do both. Of course the other cherished fear mongering trick failed too. That he would declare martial law and prevent the election all together.

I can not figure out why he is waiting?

I've heard very few liberals guarantee that he is going to attack Iran. Some might have, but that was sheer speculation on their part.

I've always thought that Bushbots wanted to attack Iran. All one has to do is peruse posts on this board, and elsewhere in cyberspace. A lot of cons are drunk on war, and have at various times called for attacking Iran, Russia, Syria, Venezuela, and other evil doers.

The fact that there is vigorous opposition in this country to unneccessary war and bloodshed is one thing that keeps a check on the government and the NeoCons. If we had just followed the advice Cons gave us; namely to sit down, shut up, get in line, and stop criticizing Bush, he may well have felt emboldened to use military options on Iran.

As it is, Bush is using military options where there is general bipartisan consensus. He's now emplying the Obama strategy of attacking al qaeda strongholds in Pakistan. Which is something that Cons expressed mock outrage about, when Obama suggested it 12 months ago.

No spin. Bush has been a total failure. A severe recession turning into the Second Great Republican Depression. Two failed wars. The murderer of 3000 Americans on American soil still free and alive after over seven years. Less than 1 in 5 Americans approve of the job he has done. One could go on for many paragraphs about the damage that Bush and the neo-cons did to this nation.

get it out of your system---we have a new disaster on the way

This is just divisive, RGS.

You put out one of these threads like once a month. You should have originally posted it in flame zone, because that's all this thread is, a FLAME.

From a FLAMER.

I am not a liberal :) but I have said repeatedly that I despise Bush, and I freely admit he scared the shit out of me for years. I was convinced he would NUKE Iran and I believe he did not fairly win either election in effect 'seizing government' for eight years though not permanently. But I do clearly remember the idea floated in May 2004 of postponing the election. Do you remember this? the idea was floated by someone in Washington as a test balloon. Scared shit out of me. They were planning ways to postpone the 2004 election: http://www.cnn.com/2004/ALLPOLITICS/07/11/election.day.delay/index.html

The attacks on Fallujah occured immediately after the 2004 election. Why? It seems to me that Bush etc knew that going in to Fallujah in say September would be politically dangerous. He went in the day after, if I recall. That he would wait until he was elected and then immediately ramp up the aggression was one reason I was certain he would attack Iran.

My understanding is that the main reason he *didn't* attack Iran was because we don't have the resources we need. He (rather they) could have instituted the draft, but that would be political suicide. So, politics politics.

I am jumping for joy to have been wrong (I WAS WRONG! :) ) about Iran and seizing government. And other stuff. I WAS WRONG about any concerns that the machines would throw the 2008 election to McCain. :) I am delighted to be wrong. I want this country to be right and good, not aggressive and warmongering and power hungry and unethical.

You can mention how WRONG I was on this issue anytime, as far as I am concerned.

I will also say that anyone that thinks Obama is a secret muslim or socialist or black supremacist or whatever is also incorrect. But I don't hear as much about that, because I suspect that the left is more vocal than the right.

I do understand the feelings of having a president in office that makes you sick, however, and anyone that feels that way about Obama has my sincere sympathy. It really ratchets up the alcohol bill for one thing ;), and you just wander around wondering how your countrymen became so delusional. It's not a fun place to be. It would be nice if we could get someone in office that everyone backed enthusiastically, but it may actually be that a chorus of dissenting views is healthier for democracy in the long run.

I wish he was already out of there and no doubt, so does he! Simply to stop the pissing and moaning like this!

Then everyone can focus completely on picking the meat from Obama's bones.

There have been posts forever on the goofier parts of cyberspace that Bush was planning on doing an internal coup. There have also been posts forever on cyberspace that he was thinking of nuking Iran. Which, because of the nuclear policy of the place, someone will have to do sooner or later anyway.
It really isn't fair to slam all the other side just for the idiocy of a very few.

But it is kind of fun!

Yeah, no doubt.

But we on this board are the ones that RGS is whining at.

We are not responsible for the babbling blather of the multitudes.

Frankly I get sick of assholes expecting us to defend things none of us have said.

What is your point? With so little time left in his presidency do you want to expand on any promises he accomplished? Maybe uniter not divider, non intervention and humble foreign policy, strengthen economy, etc etc..

Yeah, no doubt.

Except assholes on this board as early as around the election were saying it and you know it. In Fact there was a thread where in the claim was made he was on the verge of attacking Iran and that he would do so before December. Another where the argument was made that if Obama won it would encourage bush to attack Iraq before January, ect ect.

You are a liar or to stupid to remember the written word when it disagrees with you. You pick which.

Bush attacking Iraq? Now thats just crazy talk.. :eusa_whistle:

Right, BK, why on earth would Bush want to attack Iraq? No WMD. Nothing to do with 9-11. Sworn enemy of Bin Laden and the Al Queda. Completely defanged by our overflights. Why on earth would he want to attack Iraq when Bin Laden is in Afghanistan or Pakistan?

Personally, I believe Benazir Bhutto was right. Osama Ben Laden has been a rotting corpse since Tora Bora. We just won't leave Afganistan until we have proof he is dead. The hundred years mentioned by McCain sounds about right.
