We don't really have news any longer. And a majority of people are getting it on the Internet and social media. That's how Trump won, and the reason the media went on full court press bashing Trump 24/7. They wanted to "fix" the election as they usually do, but failed miserably.

At the end, when they realized that the billions of dollars in free publicity they had given him had created a monster who would hurt us all, they did try to "fix" their mistake, but it was too late.
Bulldog, you also realize that you just admitted that the biased, corrupt media tried to influence the elections by promoting the republican candidate they thought Hillary could beat?

Ratings was their only goal. Crazy gets an audience, and they displayed the crazy every chance possible.

But an unbiased news organization shouldn't be picking winners, spreading lies, providing cover, etc.

Again, they weren't picking a winner. They were boosting ratings by having the crazy guy on as much as possible. It had the effect of giving him a massive boost, but that wasn't the intention.

And why were they boosting the guy? Because the Hillary campaign had concluded that Trump is the most beatable and instructed the crooked media boost him. We all saw what the plan was. Once Trump became the nominee the media did their duty and started bashing Trump 24/7 while covering up Hillary's baggage and the devastating revelations that kept coming out with the wiki leaks. They failed. The crooked media remains crooked and a propaganda arm of the Democrat party. However they have become irrelevant and taken over by social media.

Simply CRAP full of LIES article on "child detention centers" a great big lefty sad sob piece about "scrubbing toilets". There are no "detention" centers for child migrants! The "journalists who wrote this July 2018 piece are mostly young journalists. Many are the abolish ice long live DACA extremists. The article calls air conditioning an "icebox"...

How Skipping Hotel Housekeeping Can Help the Environment and Your Wallet
Promoting sustainability, properties are offering food and beverage credits and other perks for guests who forgo housekeeping services.
By Abby Ellin
Feb. 27, 2018
  • The question came at check-in: Did I want to forgo housekeeping for the two days I was staying at the Flamingo in Las Vegas in exchange for a $10 a day food and beverage credit?

Huh?

It helps that Jell-O is such a potent metaphor

The whole reason the media hates Trump is that he uses his Twitter account to make them irrelevant.

You used to have to depend on the media to get what the president was saying and doing and even thinking.

Now if Trump wants to talk directly to the people, he tweets. The media is now an impotent middle man and they hate it. They hate him because he's republican but double hate him because he doesn't put up with their shit like Bush did. Obama had them sucking his shlong for 8 years so he didn't have to worry about it.

ELECTION 2016
To Our Readers, From the Publisher and Executive Editor
NOV. 13, 2016

When the biggest political story of the year reached a dramatic and unexpected climax late Tuesday night, our newsroom turned on a dime and did what it has done for nearly two years — cover the 2016 election with agility and creativity.

After such an erratic and unpredictable election there are inevitable questions: Did Donald Trump’s sheer unconventionality lead us and other news outlets to underestimate his support among American voters? What forces and strains in America drove this divisive election and outcome? Most important, how will a president who remains a largely enigmatic figure actually govern when he takes office?

As we reflect on the momentous result, and the months of reporting and polling that preceded it, we aim to rededicate ourselves to the fundamental mission of Times journalism. That is to report America and the world honestly, without fear or favor, striving always to understand and reflect all political perspectives and life experiences in the stories that we bring to you. It is also to hold power to account, impartially and unflinchingly. You can rely on The New York Times to bring the same fairness, the same level of scrutiny, the same independence to our coverage of the new president and his team.

We cannot deliver the independent, original journalism for which we are known without the loyalty of our readers. We want to take this opportunity, on behalf of all Times journalists, to thank you for that loyalty.

Sincerely,

Arthur Sulzberger Jr., publisher

Such bullshit. Revoke Freedom of the Press. These assholes are the lapdogs of the democrat party. They don't "strive to reflect all political perspectives". Cancel your subscriptions people!

Okay, and what news outlet does "strive to reflect all political perspectives"? And which people would buy such a newspaper?

After reading this thread and some rightees posts, I renewed my subscription to the NYT's. Thank you.

No, they hate him because he treats the presidency like a trash can. But you keep telling yourself otherwise. Make the world simpler and more convenient in your head.

Someone else agrees with me. And this article is older than Trump's presidency.

Has the media become irrelevant?

The NYT has been a liberal septic tank for over twenty years. I remember in the 90's they had discussion forums where they had their own forum trolls that would deny, smoke, spin, twist, and lie, no matter what a conservative said. I remember one such scumbag in the gun forum called Mike Rose. He was the NYT's very own C_Clayton_Jones!
