Boehner and GOP quietly cave

There is the little matter of a stay by a judge in the woodwork.

(CNN)A federal judge in Texas has temporarily blocked President Barack Obama's executive action on immigration, which has drawn opposition from 26 states across the nation.

United States District Judge Andrew Hanen ruled late Monday night to block executive actions Obama took late last year to shield as many as 5 million undocumented immigrants from deportation. In delaying the ruling, Hanen halted Obama's executive action, ruling that the administration had failed to comply with the Administrative Procedure Act, which calls for the White House to afford a longer notification and comment period before taking action.

Obama vows to abide by immigration court order - CNN.com

It's going to the USSC. Live with it, Dems!!

Greg

You still don't get what the Obama's immigration EO is, do you? Why it exists. Its victory or loss is utterly secondary. Making republicans expend political capital opposing it the reason it exists. Latinos are going to remember who fought for immigration reform. And who opposed it.

And Dems will gladly live with that outcome.

Translation= They'll remember which Americans are okay with them sneaking into the country.

Even republiucans support immigration reform. The DREAM act was cowritten by a republican. Among republicans at large, immigration reform polls high.

Its only Obama Derangement Syndrome that keeps House and Senate Republicans from actually moving forward on the issue. They oppose the President so blindly, that even when their policies coincide, they'll gladly slit their own political throats if it means not doing what Obama wants.

Obama played them like fiddles. And they dance to his tune.

Boehner needs to go
I respect your opinion on this, but I doubt that his caucus will vote him out.

He thinks Boehner is a RINO.........

RINO? As far as Obama and his Jihad on the Constitution, he's as good as Pelosi
Thanks for making my point......

As far as Obama getting his way, there's no difference between Boehner and Pelosi.

The GOP problems continue to be the fifty gang.

Run and fun mainstream GOP candidates again in the primaries, and cut of all money and patronage to the fifty.

The wannabee Pubs from the far reactionary right were told this day was coming.

Oh Good Grief! Cry me a River, will you?

With Netanyahu grabbing the headlines, Boehner and the Republicans try to sneak their capitulation under the radar:

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - House of Representatives Speaker John Boehner cleared the way for a vote as soon as Tuesday on a bill to fund the Department of Homeland Security for the rest of the fiscal year, dealing a blow to conservative Republicans who wanted to include language blocking President Barack Obama's immigration actions....

U.S. House to vote on security bill without immigration provisions - Yahoo News

LOL!!!!

After all that "I'll huff and I'll puff and I'll blow your immigration reform down" bullshit....

Isn't it the least surprising event of the week, though?

Was the stand off staged all this time? Probably, but in the ridiculous Senate rules you need 60 votes to pass something and 67 to override a veto. Basically impossible

Everyone becomes a RINO once they have to govern. Not because their ideas are truly insane noooooo.....because no one has had the balls (republicans love balls) to stand up for what they believe in.

Yeah, that's the ticket

Obama once again calls Boehners bluff

But but...Obama is weak.

Which makes the GOP even weaker
Regretfully, it is true. Obama has outmaneuvered the GOP - more specifically, the Tea Party - for six years now. You would think the teapers would get the clue that you can't play checkers when the enemy is playing chess. I have said it a million times...the Tea Party is destroying the GOP. They are amateurs...children playing a man's game. It's fucking pathetic and embarrassing.

I don't see many of my conservative brothers and sisters responding here and I can't blame them. My liberal friends are popping corks and laughing their asses off and rightly so. Most everything said here is true, as my wife likes to say you can break my arm but don't embarrass me.

But this is an in house failure. A failure of leadership, but most of all a failure of strategy which highlights the fact that neither the best or the brightest are inhabiting the high council of republican leadership. The majority of the country is against obamas executive orders, the whole country is against illegals getting free money fron the earned income tax credit and you can't design legislation that takes advantage of this? Louis Gomert predicted this would happen during his run for leader. He foretold exactly that republicans would be backed into a corner by linking DHS and the executive orders. Sure enough the idiots that overwhelmingly won the last election snatched defeat from the jaws of victory and looked about as incompetent as possible in doing so.

I have to admit that I am getting stupidity fatigue. It is not the tea party or even Obama antipathy that is the problem it is the total lack of legislative IQ amongst republican leadership that is the problem. They are scared, they are impotent, they lack any creativity, and I believe most in power don't even believe in their cause. What happened to a small skirmish every week, what happened to a bill a week, what happened to progress the American people want, what happened to republicans breaking the Harry Reid logjam, what happened to reining in the presidents actions, what the hell have the republicans done to distinguish themselves in two months, which daft republicans didn't think there was going to a magnifying glass on their activities by the press during their honeymoon, and lastly which repubs in particular are responsible for allowing this chain of events to get started in the first place and then go on until suicide was the only option?

I can't believe I am saying this but Rightwinger is right. Get your god damn immigration bill up there. Get your replacement for obamacare up there. Get your infrastructure bill up there. Get your reining in the EPA bill up there. And if Boehner can't do it, get rid of him. If McConnell won't do what the democrats did to pass bills than get rid of him. For people like me who voted for republicans to restrain Obama all I am seeing is a president/dictator who is emboldened by the ineptness of the opposition to such an extent that now he is contemplating executive orders for international treaties and even new taxes. Lawlessness is becoming epidemic and the woman waiting in the wings to take obamas place is as dismissive of the rule of law as the one in office now.

I am embarrassed and fearful for my country!

Well said. But it is the fault of the Tea Party. They want a civil war within the GOP....they are taking America down with their silly efforts. And in the end...this won't help the GOP keep control by kicking the teapers out...it will only give the liberals more power, more control, and more seats in 2016

With any luck this will end gutless John as speaker.

Hispanic vote given to GOP in 2004: 40%.

Hispanic vote given to GOP in 2008: 31%.

Hispanic vote given to GOP in 2012: 27%.

With this trend line, it will become impossible for the GOP to win the White House after 2016. Minorities are not going to vote for a party which so openly HATES them.

Let me fix that for you:

Which so openly HATES people who completely disrespect our laws and borders when they sneak into the country and expect amnesty ahead of those who go through the proper legal channels to become a citizen.

What's really embarrassing is Americans who no longer care enough about their country to the point that they have no problem with criminals who sneak into our country and take jobs which keep blue collar wages down.
Shame on you people !

 So you want to defund the very department assigned to keeping illegals out. Teaper logic is pathetic. And now that you lost...again, you want to assign false arguments.

I hope you don't mind but I sent a copy of your post to my congressman unedited. I had already sent them my opinion calling for a no confidence vote and new election for speaker.
